Gov. retchen Whitmer creates Black Leadership Advisory Council and declares racism a public health crisis

LANSING, Mich. (FOX 2) - Michigan Governor Gretchen announced on Wednesday the creation of the Black Leadership Advisory Council and declared racism as a public health crisis while detailing plans to address it within state government.

Gov. Whitmer spoke on Wednesday about COVID-19 in Michigan, saying that Black people were more likely to die from the virus than white people.

"This pandemic has confirmed and highlighted the deadly nature of these pre-existing inequities caused by racism. COVID-19 is four times as likely to take the life of Black Michigander than a white one," Whitmer said.

The governor said her executive directive to create the Black Leadership Advisory Council will confront systemic racism in the state.

No. The creation of BLAC is just the administrative continuance of Black Lives Matter Phase II cover up for the Detroit Land Bank Authority. Gretchen will not say Detroit Land Bank Authority nor will she say my Sweetie's name. This is what Operation BLAC is all about because she has all the Blue Cross Blue Shield- Detroit Economic Club - Campaign & Election Fraud to deal with. The plan is to let their newly appointed spokestokens on center stage to chant the "white-man-hate-black-man-hate-yellow-man-hate-rainbow-man-hate-white-man...." around a midnight funeral pyre of their fellow co-conspirators who have died of the cooties, under a full moon, of course, as a legal vehicle to go to court, and drag out their public health crisis in hopes of cudgeling any superseding protracted litigation still sealed in those Detroit Grand Juries information.

The Black Leadership Advisory Council will be within the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and will consist of 16 voting members representing Black leadership in economics, public policy, health and wellness, technology, the environment, agriculture, arts and culture, and more.

BLAC OP is put in LEO. I just love the mnemonics.  I see hashtags, t-shirts and other catchy logos to internationally i-beg.

The Black Leadership Advisory council will be included among a set of diverse ethnic commissions within the state of Michigan. Although African Americans are the largest racial minority in the state, this Council is the first of its kind in Michigan to elevate Black leaders and representatives.

Now, you know they are going to use Garland as the anchor scale for color tolling membership into this elite club, oops, I mean BLAC OP.

The council will work in an advisory capacity to the governor and develop, review, and recommend policies and actions designed to eradicate and prevent discrimination and racial inequity in Michigan. The council will take on this challenge by doing the following:

Identifying state laws, or gaps in state law, that create or perpetuate inequities, with the goal of promoting economic growth and wealth equity for the Black community.

How about starting with the Emergency Manager Law? I sit clutching my pearls to see if anyone is going to invite anyone from JonesDay, like Don McGahn.

Collaborating with the governor’s office and the Black community to promote legislation and regulation that ensures equitable treatment of all Michiganders, and seeks to remedy structural inequities in this state.

I am impressed that they actually pitched justification to fund their co-conspiratorial operations. Wow.

Serving as a resource for community groups on issues, programs, sources of funding, and compliance requirements within state government in order to benefit and advance the interests of the Black community.

Promoting the cultural arts within the Black community through coordinated efforts, advocacy, and collaboration with state government. This is called one of those Public Private Partnerships utilizing the interests of foreign interests in the best interest of the child, starting with bleachbitting education to make us dumber.

Providing other information or advice or taking other actions as requested by the governor. 
The other directive, declaring racism a public health crisis, requires data documenting differences in health outcomes among racial and ethnic groups in Michigan to be collected, analyzed, and made publicly available to help leaders implement equitable policies. Additionally, departments must understand how racial disparities in societal, environmental, and behavioral factors intersect to affect access to resources like good jobs, access to healthy and affordable food and housing, equitable transportation options, and quality public education. 

The Michigan Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities will work in partnership with departments to develop a plan that details how Michigan will eliminate the root causes of the inequities that cause disparities in health outcomes for our residents.

“These past several months have been difficult for all of us, but they have been especially tough for Black and Brown people who for generations have battled the harms caused by a system steeped in persistent inequalities. These are the same inequities that have motivated so many Americans of every background to confront the legacy of systemic racism that has been a stain on our state and nation from the beginning,” said Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II. “That is why, today, we take the much-needed and long-overdue step of recognizing racism as a public health crisis. It is only after we have fully defined the injustice that we can begin to take steps to replace it with a greater system of justice that enables all Michiganders to pursue their fullest dreams and potential.”

Garlin should really step back and take a look at himself in the mirror because he is part and parcel of the reason why the "system is steeped in persistent inequities" because he got Detroit Land Bank Authority properties for dropping his election challenge in election fraud, probably, then, probably, someone whispered in his ear that if he just forgot everything about absentee ballot fraud in Detroit, that he would magically be crowned governor, as there is already a plan in place to replace Gretchen Whitmer, long before any of his elections were certified, but, hey, what do I know?

I wonder if anyone from the Congressional Black Caucus is providing "Legal Genius" (trademark pending) advice and consent to engage in financial transactions by and through foreign operations called "reparations", that I like to call more stealin', just like they did with TARP.

The speech comes one day after Whitmer issued a directive ordering state departments and agencies to take necessary steps to enforce all COVID-19 executive orders to slow or stop the spread of the virus.

Just this week, Michigan State Senator Tom Barrett tested positive for the virus, prompting the cancellation of Senate sessions this week and concerns about who could have been exposed.

On Tuesday, 150 COVID-19 cases were linked to teens who were attending parties in South Lyon and Fenton in Southeast Michigan.

The clusters are around at least six parties held in July and include the 150 cases - and counting - among 15- to 19-year-olds, according to health officials in Oakland, Genesee and Livingston counties. They're linked to indoor and outdoor graduation parties and prom-type parties.

Although he plans to run for office in hopes of making substantial changes to the city, Pastor Bullock’s first love is practicing ministry as the leader of the Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church.
Not afraid to speak his mind, Pastor Bullock’s name has often been seen in the news for organizing sit-ins, marches, and political rallies. He always puts his work first and spends much of his time reading and educating himself. Pastor Bullock is a philosopher, musician and currently an eligible bachelor.

Benton Harbor Schools ‘urgently requesting’ that Gov. Whitmer reconsider plan

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.—Benton Harbor Area Schools officials have written an open letter to Governor Gretchen Whitmer “urgently requesting” that she appear in person at the June 4 public meeting regarding the proposed plan to close Benton Harbor's high schools.

The state met with officials from Benton Harbor on Friday to discuss the plan that recommends the closing of Benton Harbor High School and the alternative high school so that the district can focus on students in K-8th grade.

In the proposed plan, Benton Harbor High School and the alternative high school would close as of the 2020-2021 school year.

The school board issued the following open letter to Governor Whitmer, with an urgent request for her to attend the June 4 meeting in person, which is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. in the Benton Harbor High School Student Commons.

Letter to Governor Whitmer written by the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board (BHAS):

Dear Governor Whitmer –

We respectfully and urgently request that you visit Benton Harbor in person to meet in an Open

Public Meeting with the community and the elected School Board trustees regarding the future of

Benton Harbor High School and the K-12 District as a whole.

The School Board is hosting an Open Public Meeting at the Benton Harbor High School Student

Commons on Tuesday June 4 at 6pm. We would love to host you and let you hear the full story.

Hopefully you are aware that representatives from your office, Treasury and the Department of

Education are claiming that, on your behalf, a unilateral decision has been made to close Benton

Harbor High School in 2020. The Board was told by your representatives that a decision was made

by your office to intentionally exclude the elected School Board trustees and exclude open

community input from the decision-making process. Honestly, we are completely shocked and

dismayed by this action. Our Board has been working in good faith with both Treasury and

Education to address issues at BHAS including an outline for a new Strategic Plan, submitted to

Treasury, but upon which your departments have taken no action.

We also want to openly confront the many “elephants in the room” that neither your staff nor the

news media have addressed:

• The land upon which the Benton Harbor High School sits with its athletic fields and adjacent

School Board properties are the LAST MAJOR UNDEVELOPED WATERFRONT PROPERTIES in

Berrien County, Michigan. Is this just a coincidence, given that your office just told our

Board representatives on 5/24/19 that your plan to close Benton Harbor High School has

major (but unnamed) supporters in the nearby business community?

• The Draft Plan from your office is explicitly a transfer of wealth from an overwhelmingly poor

and black community (Benton Harbor) to nearby white, more affluent communities. Under

your Plan, that transfer of wealth will occur through the loss by Benton Harbor of its school

facilities and use of school land, transfer of state funding from Benton Harbor to the

adjacent nine school districts where you plan Benton Harbor students to be redistributed,

and loss of jobs for local teachers and staff of all levels.

• The contention by representatives of your office that hiring a single staff person to act as a

“Cultural Dean” to smooth over “discomfort” that the displaced 700 black students might

feel when transported out of their community to predominantly white schools is an

appalling insult to our youth and the community. Such insensitivity to the painful history of

racial segregation, unsuccessful past desegregation efforts, and continued State-sponsored

dis-investment in Benton Harbor calls for a swift and strong response.

We call upon you to meet with us – to hear the students voices and the expertise of our teachers.

We call upon you to fulfill your 2018 campaign promises to support public schools, especially in

high-poverty communities, to fight urban poverty, and to hold government accountable.

BHAS needs balanced, constructive leadership from you, your office and all State agencies.

We need complete transparency. We need State and local leaders to stop sensationalizing limited

facts about Benton Harbor in the media and on the Michigan.gov website created by your office to

promote your Plan to close Benton Harbor High School. Our community needs to feel that our

youth are respected, valued and worth meaningful investment so that they may achieve their

tremendous potential. The students, their families, our teachers, and our community deserve that.

Cocktails & Popcorn: Wayne County Treasurer & Prosecutor - Gerrymandering In Office

"The Elected Ones" do this all the time.

The Wayne County Treasurer's Office has the Wayne County Property Deed Fraud Unit.

Becky (said like a 1980s valley girl) Camargo, used to run the Wayne County Property Deed Fraud Unit, through the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, but did nothing.

Well, actually, Becky was working with Mike Duggan when he was Wayne County Prosecutor, but she ended up getting the Principal Attorney position at the Detroit Land Bank Authority when Duggan was elected Mayor, but that is just a coincidence.

Becky was still running the show over there with the Wayne County Property Deed Fraud Unit having properties sent over to the Detroit Land Bank Authority.

Becky had to leave Detroit Land Bank Authority, but now she is representing the contractors of her former Ham Sandwich, for I have no other term for DLBA because it never incorporated, so I have no idea how she was even hired, cashed her checks, and legally represented  it.

Kym Worthy is the Wayne County Prosecutor, now.

Kym may have a conflict of interest when it comes to prosecuting "The Elected Ones" who have ended up getting Detroit Land Bank Authority and Wayne County Tax Foreclosure Auction properties, but hey, what do I know?

I know Benny Napoleon is the Wayne County Sherrif.

And I know this is another form of gerrymandering.

And I know Garlin Gilchrist falls into the grouping of "The Elected Ones", too!

I also know alot about Raymond Wojtowicz, former Wayne County Treasurer because he used to hang out at the Piast Institute and Brendan Dunleavy used to have a lot to say, but no one would listen to him but me.

FBI scrutinizes Sabree property dealings; family underpaid taxes

The FBI is looking into land deals by the family of Wayne County Treasurer Eric Sabree, including an allegation that interest and penalties were waived on his son's delinquent properties, The Detroit News has learned.

Investigators have contacted a former Sabree staff member who complained to human resources about suspicious activity on the accounts of Sabree family properties, according to two sources familiar with the federal review.

They would only speak on the condition of anonymity.

Sabree's lawyer said he was not aware of an FBI investigation, but he said it was discovered in 2017 that the treasurer's family underpaid taxes on their delinquent property bills by $13,000, which is around the time of events the former staffer describes in her complaint.

Thomas attributed the shortfall to a mistake by Sabree's staff involving about a dozen family properties. The treasurer's wife paid the bills on May 24, 2017 shortly after they were recalculated, he said.

“It is our position that nothing inappropriate was done by Mr. Sabree,” said attorney Philip Thomas. “It was a mistake.”

The disclosures of a federal inquiry and irregularities with his family's properties come amid a Wayne County ethics board review of Sabree's activities. It was sparked by a Detroit News investigation that among other findings,showed a company Sabree founded and his wife participated in the county's tax foreclosure auction in violation of county rules.

Sabree responded to the ethics complaint earlier this week, denying any conflict of interest but expressing regret for his wife's purchases that may appear to run afoul of county policy.

His lawyer said Friday that he didn't know how the miscalculation of $13,000 with properties tied to Sabree happened or who found it. He said he was still gathering information and wasn't sure how far back the debt went back. Some of the properties included vacant lots on Wyoming and houses in Harper Woods, Thomas said, which Sabree's wife purchased from the annual tax auction.

The News asked Friday for a copy of the payment receipt, but Thomas declined to supply it because it contained his notes.

Sabree joined the office in 2011 as a deputy and has been treasurer since 2016. He makes $115,891 a year.

It is unclear if the FBI has launched a full investigation. FBI Special Agent Mara Schneider would neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation or discuss the bureau’s interest in the real estate dealings.

The News' investigation found, through multiple Freedom of Information Act requests, other county sales involving his son and nephew, along with family properties purchased at auction that later racked up enough tax debt that they could have been seized but weren't.

The former staffer sent a complaint in February 2018 detailing the allegations to Steve Mahlin, Wayne County's director of the county's personnel and human resources department, which The News obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.

The former clerical employee alleges that Sabree requested she reapply interest and penalties to his son's delinquent properties.

"Once I started to process a few, I noticed it was for his son," the woman wrote in the email. "This made me very uncomfortable."

Sabree later gave her an explanation of "why he waived" the interest and penalties, but "I didn't believe it," she wrote.

"I told him all I wanted was not to be asked to do something like this in the future."

The staffer's complaint was referred to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, which determined it had a conflict of interest. The treasurer's office funds the prosecutor's office.

The employee wasn't sent notice of that decision until a year later, the same day The News published the investigation into Sabree's family real estate dealings.

The prosecutor's office sent her a letter detailing their belief of a conflict of interest and recommending she contact the Michigan State Police. The number they suggested she call was a fax number.  

The former staffer sent the complaint to human resources after she put in a request to rejoin the treasurer's office and was denied, in part because she was told she had confrontations with coworkers. She had left the office for another job but it didn't pan out, she wrote.

The former staffer said in the complaint that she believed she was blocked from returning because she expressed concern over Sabree's son's interest and penalties.

Sabree's lawyer, Thomas, said he wasn’t aware of the specific allegation by the female staffer regarding Sabree’s son’s properties.

Taxes are often recalculated at the treasurer’s office to correct mistakes, Thomas said.

"Mistakes happen everywhere, in every office, everyday," said Thomas, who has been retained personally by Sabree and is not being paid through county funds.

Former Chief Deputy David Szymanski said that the correction of "clerical errors are not unusual" in the office, for example if a property mistakenly had a principal residency exemption reserved for owner occupants. 

Jerry Paffendorf, a critic of the annual auction and co-founder of Loveland Technologies which has studied the effects of foreclosure, said the Sabrees' family real estate transactions further erode trust in what he called a flawed process. 

"There has been a loss of trust for a long time," Paffendorf said. "There is not a consistent policy on why properties are foreclosed or not. ... I hope this is a gateway to a wider investigation that (the county isn't) following the law. "

The auction is controversial because the county seizes properties with delinquent tax bills and resells them to the highest bidder, a process that costs homeowners their equity and increases the risks associated with speculation.

Thomas said he doesn't want to comment on specifics about the pending ethics board review but said that Sabree is an “honest man.”

“I don’t think there is a shred of evidence to show he participated in improper conduct as Treasurer,” Thomas said. “Every allegation has turned out to be completely and utterly false. I haven’t seen any allegation that is troubling to me.

“There is an explanation for everything.”

County rules ban family members of Treasurer’s Office employees from participating in the auction, which seizes properties from delinquent taxpayers and resells them to the highest bidder.  Sabree has said the family ban was removed in 2015 and 2016 but is not sure why it was reinstated in 2017 and 2018.

The Detroit News investigation found that a company Sabree formed in 2002, which he says is now run by his wife, bought three Harper Woods homes from the auction in 2011, when he was deputy treasurer coordinating the sale. Sabree’s son Yusuf now lives in one of the homes; the other two are owned by the company Sabree formed. That company, U.S. Development Services LLC, later violated a requirement that tax payments for the homes remain current for at least two years.

Sabree’s son Adam, an attorney, was listed as a successful bidder for a Detroit home in 2017, although he said that it was an error probably caused by him helping a client register to bid. Both Adam and his brother Yusuf were registered bidders in 2016, although county records don’t suggest they were successful in purchasing property that year, The News found.

The investigation also found that 10 properties owned by Sabree, his wife or U.S. Development owed nearly $29,000 in delinquent taxes as of November, debts that were paid off 10 days after The News made inquiries about them. One of those properties by law should have been resold at auction because of the debt, but was not because of an error, Sabree said.

Wayne County Executive Warren Evans filed an ethics complaint against Sabree citing articles by The News and Detroit Free Press on the real estate dealings, which he called "extremely troubling."  County Commission Chairwoman Alisha Bell requested the commission's Auditor General start its regular audit of Sabree's office several months early to look into the real estate deals. 

The Wayne County Ethics Board's next meeting is March 20, but it's not clear if they will publicly review Evans complaint then. Sabree responded to the complaint on Monday.

In the response, Thomas reiterated earlier denials to The News that that there was any conflict of interest in the family real estate dealings and blamed Sabree's political enemies.

"He truly regrets this situation which has allowed his political adversaries to peck through his past for ammunition to use against him in an attempt to belittle the job he has done as Deputy Treasurer and more recently as the Treasurer," the written response reads. "He is genuinely sorrowful for the shadow that the media reports have cast over his distinguished career."

The activist group, Coalition to End Unconstitutional Tax Foreclosures, has called for the ethics board to investigate as well.

"Given that the Wayne County Treasurer’s office has foreclosed on one in four Detroit properties from 2011 to 2015, the problem is systemic," the group's statement reads. "If in fact systemic violations are discovered, this will support the Coalition’s call for a moratorium on selling owner-occupied homes in the tax foreclosure auction."

A year ago, when we started our Civic Tech engagement in Detroit, I wrote (and continue to express my excitement) about all the great business and economic activity in my hometown. Last week, I had the honor to participate as a panelist and in workshops at Detroit Startup Week and the momentum is skyrocketing.

Detroit Startup Week is a 5 day event, which offered over 150 speakers, 10 program tracks, loads of workshops, tours and chats about various topics related to entrepreneurship in Detroit—all for FREE. Because of the wide breadth of activity, the speakers and attendees ranged from Mayor Mike Duggan, Dan Gilbert, and Jamie Dimon to local coffee startups and hackers. Each was as important as the other—because all attendees shared a common vision—a stronger Detroit, based on economic development through small and medium business growth. There were over 2000 attendees and a tremendous amount of sidebar networking. The Goal: To help Grow the Detroit Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. There is no doubt that Detroit is on the mend after becoming the nation’s largest city ever to go bankrupt just two years ago. Mayor Mike Duggan discussed how the city is starting to turn around, betting big on small businesses, education and affordable housing. His measurement of whether the city is on the right track or not is whether the population is growing or declining. Let’s continue to watch closely as I think people are indeed moving back into the city.

Microsoft was part of a panel and workshop discussion suite that included January Advisors, Data Driven Detroit, Loveland, and the City of Detroit’s Director of Innovation and Emerging Technology. We discussed best practices from Houston to Chicago to Detroit and how to open up the city’s public data and information for the consumption and benefit of all. Examples like D3’s Motor City Mapping were discussed and Garlin Gilchrist II announced that Detroit will be working with Smart Chicago and Microsoft to bring the Civic User Testing (CUT) Group program to Detroit, in partnership with Data Driven Detroit. We are extremely excited to help with this innovative program.

Congratulations to the volunteers who helped make Detroit Startup Week such a success. We’re looking forward to next year—a bigger crowd, more growth and more success for the new Motor city. NOTHING stops Detroit!

Hey SIGTARP! Detroit Land Bank Authority Is Going To Let Michigan Lt. Governor Gilbert Gilchrist Sell Evidence & Wipe Claims

"GG, the tech guru" who has been silent on the Detroit
Land Bank Authority and 2016 & 2018 Election Interference

Uh, what happened to the blind trusts when addressing emoluments, or rather personal inurement of elected office?

This is a blatant breach of the public trust and someone needs to stand up, to bear witness, and testify, that we are dealing with "Legal Geniuses" (trademark pending).

I am just clutching my pearls to see how the Detroit Land Bank Authority is going to approve the deal, and present its legal ability to "wipe out" any claims, which would be public claims if it was part of the City of Detroit when the original transfer was executed, like how did they even get the property in the first place.

As a matter of fact, I think the public deserves to see copy of that Detroit Land Bank Authority agreement with "GG, the tech guru".

I just want to see if the Detroit Land Bank Authority gave equal treatment by comparing the language of the agreement, you know, with an executed contract with "The Poors", you know, a concurrent language thing.

As a matter of fact, how did "GG the tech guru" pay for the acquisition?

If it was with a check, to whom was the check issued, which bank, were there any financial instruments created to secure funding, and if so, was it foreign funding, or a campaign "gratutity" (I would never accuse him of taking any form of personal enjoyment from a Ham Sandwich that never incorporated.)

This information is of the greatest interest as some have alleged false voter registrations, fraudulent abentee ballots, and fake votes being registered at vacant Detroit Land Bank Authority addresses, but may have exchanged silence to become Lieutenant Governor.

If these allegations have been found to be....how shall I say this....validated...well, that would mean the 2016, oops, I mean, 2018 election would be considered for nullification under the extraordinary writs, but hey, what do I know?

I know there are grand juries mulling over the same aforementioned queries.

I also know there is a federal Election Integrity conjugal collaborative going on.

Gilchrist selling troubled Detroit apartment building

Detroit – Don’t look for Michigan’s new lieutenant governor on a home makeover show.

Garlin Gilchrist II is getting rid of a fire-damaged Detroit apartment building after spending $225,000 to try to revive it. He got the building from the Detroit Land Bank Authority for just $13,500.

The building became an issue in the fall campaign when neighbors complained about the eyesore, two years after Gilchrist acquired it. He said at the time that he’d made progress and was trying to get loans.

Records obtained by The Associated Press show Gilchrist is selling the vacant building for $190,000. The Land Bank needs to approve the deal.

Land Bank spokeswoman Alyssa Strickland says Gilchrist won’t owe anything to the agency because he’s selling the property for less than what he put into it.

Cocktails & Popcorn: Did Gilchrist Snitch On Detroit Absentee Ballot Fraud Or Did He Sell Out

Oh my, look what I have stumbled across.

"GG, the tech guru"  could qualify as a whistleblower, or just flip if there is legal momentum when it comes to all the election fraud, particularly with those absentee ballots coming out of Detroit Land Bank Authority houses.

As a matter of fact, "GG, the tech guru" is aware of the 2016 Primary Absentee Ballot issues, but hey, what do I know?

I know we are going to have to talk to the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, if they are not gagged, having to defer the certification of the vote to the State of Michigan Board of Canvassers, who have yet to issue anything, not even a statement.

I wonder if there were any "hush deeds" of real property involved.

Michigan Is The First State To Debate Foster Care In A Political Campaign

For the first time, in the history of the United States has the issue of Foster Care made the center stage, far removed for any political party state platform, in a political campaign.

I was wondering why my stats were going off the charts.

Now, I am going to need everyone to send me everything.

1. I want interviews with people in attendance, outside, and on stage.
2. I want pics, soundbytes, campaign material pics, play-by-play, from the time you pull up in the parking lot to the time they start freaking out when someone screams about child trafficking in foster care and adoption.
3. Ask them about poverty being codified as the crime of child abuse and neglect for failure to provide for the necessary needs of the child.
4. Ask them about Termination of Parental Rights and Due Process.
5. I want to see the sweat and hear the stutters of these people trying to parrot and distort my work when they try and claim that the fraud in child welfare does not fund political campaigns.
6. I want livestream of when these people claim that these Child Placing Agencies are and administrations are not foreign corporations participating in exfiltrating HUMIT and asset forfeiture of Michigan's Children who eventually grow up to be adults.
7. I want to experience across the social media cybersphere their faces when you ask them about the fraudulent foreclosures in Detroit and Flint which forced the migration of children, leading to gerrymandering of the congressional districts.

The reason I want the people to do it is because the only place these political and community leaders can turn to reconstruct the rights to a civil society is me.

Make them say my name because, not once, has anyone attempted to contact me, which means they are about to spout a bunch of crap they know absolutely nothing about.

Whatever they say, upon posting to my blog, will be entered into the official, public record, through a court of law.

If, and when they lie, it will be recorded.

Make them say Ricky Holland.

Chant it.

I  will accept and respect any candidate who defers to ignorance.

Travel is out of my price range at the moment, besides, it is not yet time for the Celestial Goddess of the Woodshed to emerge.

Just a self-preservation kind of thing.

Top of the ticket candidates to appear at Oakland University town hall on foster care

Bill Schuette, Garlin Gilchrist Jr., and John James are just a few of the candidates that will appear at a Thursday forum on foster care.

Oakland University will play host to the 7 p.m. public candidate forum sponsored by Michigan's Children, a statewide, independent organization working to ensure public policies are made in the best interest of children and their families, as well as 25 other non-profits and agencies.

The forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., 318 Meadow Brook Road, and will include a full panel of candidates running in various State House and State Senate races. Schuette, Gilchrist and James will open the event with some remarks, which will be followed by the question and answer forum. 

“Unfortunately, our state currently fails many of its youngest citizens,’’ said Matt Gillard, President and CEO of Michigan’s Children. “Data in the annual Kids Count reports shows us that Michigan ranks at or near the bottom third of states in a range of child well-being indicators, from low reading and math test scores to rising abuse and neglect rates to the sixth-highest rate of children living in high-poverty neighborhoods in the country.

The Detroit Free Press Forgot To Opine About SIGTARP & The Detroit Land Bank Authority Relationship With Gilchrist & Schuette

Here are my 2 cents:

If this writer is going to have a tizzy about Bill not having a similar law enforcement moment when it comes to corporate blight, then how come he does not go after Bill for not doing anything about the Detroit Land Bank Authority?

Wait, I know why.

The Detroit Land Bank Authority is having some SIGTARP issues and The Detroit Free Press is sitting on the big reveal.

Schuette slams Detroit Dem for blight, OKs it for billionaire investor | Opinion

GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette is appalled by the condition of an apartment building owned by Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Garlin Gilchrist II in Detroit's North End. The property on Marston Street, Schuette says, is so disgraceful, and Gilchrist's failure to rehabilitate it so egregious, that Gilchrist, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer's running mate, should resign from the race.

Hey Bill, do me a favor and send one of your Detroit Assistants down to the Wayne County Register of Deeds and pull the history of the property.  That action is a bit out of my economic range for existence having to fix my own house up, all by myself because you keep making me do your job.

The North End apartment building is in bad shape, no doubt. Despite the money Gilchrist has poured into the building, it's not yet inhabitable, and the neighbors on Marston Street have justifiable complaints. Blight is one of Detroit's most intractable problems, and there's no denying the physical and psychological toll it takes.

I recall this Public Private Partnership in Detroit that received millions upon millions to address the blight in Detroit. I vaguely remember that work organization being called the Detroit Land Bank Authority, but considering the fact that when I searched for its corporate instrument of authority filed under a responsibility of Bill and I could not find it, I would need to have my memory refreshed. Perhaps, Nancy can do an opinion piece on what happened to all that TARP money for blight.

But when Schuette slams Gilchrist's ownership of a blighted, vacant building, he's not just reducing a complicated story about land ownership and barriers to property rehabilitation in this city to a political jab. He's tacitly acknowledging a double standard many longtime Detroiters recognize: All too often, Detroiters are held to one standard, while billionaire investors get carte blanche.

Maybe Bill can give us some clarification on the land ownership issue by explaining how the Detroit Congressional Districts were gerrymandered from severe questionable breaks in the chain of command with these deeds.  He can start by investigating the Wayne County Property Deed Fraud Unit if SIGTARP is not already investigating him.  Ask Bill, Nancy.

As Michigan's attorney general, Schuette effectively signed off on generous public subsidies for the construction of the Ilitch family's $864 million Little Caesars Arena, issuing a 2014 opinion that OK'd the Detroit's Downtown Development Authority collection of Detroit school taxes to fund the private development, a public benefit of $324 million.

Yea, Bill, how come you granted powers of taxation to the working group Detroit Downtown Development Authority, which has never been audited because is not incorporated in the State of Michigan to levy taxes? Bill is not a king because that title of nobility was granted to the Emergency Managers.  And while you are at it, Nancy, go ask Bill how come he lets the Detroit Land Bank Authority levy taxes that do not exist and how come there is state law allowing state public school taxes to be levied across the state then split, 50/50 with the Detroit Land Bank Authority, and the rest going to the Detroit Downtown Development Authority.  Ask Bill if this is one of those Social Impact Bond Schemes.  I did an SEC snitch, you know.

The Ilitches have a track record of property ownership that's rife with blight on a vast scale. They pursued a 15-year strategy to acquire property in the arena's footprint, often leaving some structures in disrepair. Ilitch-owned properties continued to rack up blight tickets as recently as this summer.

Everyone knew about the Ilitch demolition plans. You just let the natural elements tear up the building so you can file insurance and not have to pay for asbestos containment and removal.

"I’m not, I’m not going to comment, nor am I agreeing, you’re charging the Ilitches have a shoddy, spotty, whatever it is, record," Schuette said. "... My point is that I’m not commenting on the Ilitches’ blighted property record, I think that, frankly, Ilitch plus Penske plus Gilbert and a whole bunch of private investments have caused a rebirth in Detroit, and quite frankly, I think that is significant. And I want to encourage more of that."

Of course Bill is not going to comment on the fraudulent foreign operations funding his campaign.

The 2014 opinion, Schuette said, was "a sound, solid decision, and I’m not going to make any apologies on that."

Is Bill compromised?  Drop that video!

Nor would Schuette discuss whether, as governor, he would find it appropriate to offer public tax subsidies to other private land owners who oversee blighted properties, or who owe back taxes, as the Ilitch family did during arena deal negotiations.

If I am not mistaken, these corporations are tax exempt.

"I'm not going to get into the blighted issue," he said. "I want Detroit to grow. Detroit is a city of 138 square miles. We’ve seen a huge renaissance, and the issue is how do you help build that out, and I want to help build that out. Frankly, I’m Detroit’s best hope. You may disagree with that."

Whether Bill is the best choice for governor or not is just as a sanguine decision for a kid who has survived foster care of whether to be raped or turn a trick to eat for the day.

When it comes to Gilchrist, Schuette isn't quite as forgiving.

It is called a public distraction, or a LARP.  SIGTARP is watching.

Garlin and Ellen Gilchrist aren't deep-pocketed developers or billionaire business owners.

The Gilchrists' bought the Marston Street building, a multi-family property rare for a Detroit Land Bank Authority auction, back in 2016, for $13,500, half of the $27,000 auction price. Because Gilchrist was a city employee, he was eligible for a 50 percent discount.

Nancy, can you pull that payment and see to whom the check was made out to, who cashed it, and any other financial transactions.  Bill is more than likely too busy preparing for the foster care public debate.

"We are not real estate developers so much as people who though, t we could bring this building back to life in a part of the city that has meaning to us," said Gilchrist, who played Police Athleltic League basketball as a child at the former Considine Rec Center on Woodward Avenue in the North End, told me this week.

The building was badly damaged, and Gilchrist and wife Ellen borrowed against their home to start work. He says they spent around $200,000 on cleanup of the interior, repairing or removing parts of the structure, leveling the foundation, replacing some windows, fixing the porch and the roof, and on architectural plans and surveys required for the full renovation of the building.

Then the Gilchrists ran out of cash.

So, you mean to tell me "GG, the tech guru" did not even have a sequence of events schedule based upon a complete price estimate before starting anything? That is probably the reason he cannot find any funding.  He had no clue on what to do.

Gilchrist left the city shortly after buying the Marston Street property to run for Detroit City Clerk in 2017.

Duggan and the MDP had to make sure to split the vote to keep Janice Winfrey in office since she jacked up their own plans to throw the 2016 election cycle. "Legal Geniuses" (trademark pending).

"We've been to a lot of different lenders and had a lot of fits and starts," Gilchrist said. "There are still challenges to get some renovation financing."

It is called organization.

The Gilchrists aren't alone. Detroit has no shortage of housing, or buildings in need of rehab. But funds to complete those rehabs can be difficult to obtain. 

Funding is difficult based, mostly, upon jacked up deeds.

Lenders still view Detroit rehabilitation loans as high-risk, with some justification, said Mac Farr, executive director of the Villages Community Development Corporation on Detroit's east side.

The loans are high risk because you never know when the Detroit Land Bank Authority might just swoop in and file another quiet title action without notification, of course, because they have no legal authority to exist which is why they use other operations to cash checks.

"It’s still a touch-and-go activity," he said. "If it works out, it works out very well. If not, it’s disastrous."

If you are in the clique, all you have to do is let the "Legal Geniuses" (trademark pending) get you some funding through the New York Bank of Mellon with a fake LLC, then file bankruptcy so the Detroit Land Bank Authority takes back the home and all the debt is wiped out, which is disastrous for the taxpayers who paid this all through TARP.

A would-be borrower without a track record of completing successful rehabs, Farr said, is at a deep disadvantage: "In the neighborhoods, it's still bootstrappy mom-and-pop (rehabbers) this stuff."

It is called survival.

Gilchrist's North End property is an eyesore. And there's no question about that, or that Gilchrist, who bought the eight-unit apartment building back in 2016, should have done better.

He is just lazy.

That's something Gilchrist himself acknowledges, saying he's dissatisfied with the progress he's made: "We’re still trying to work to get financing. This has been a two-year process, and we are committed to still trying to figure this out. This is something that is important to Ellen and I. We started it and we want to finish it."

Nancy, would you be a love and let Bill know as soon as GG the tech guru gets financing. 

It's an explanation that's unlikely to sway Schuette. Maybe Gilchrist should have asked for a multi-million-dollar subsidy, instead?

His handlers already did.
