TRUMP Gave Robert C. O’Brien The Stinky Touch - He Sucks.

Yes, O'Brien sucks.

Consider this the perp walk.

Now, enjoy the tale, for it shall not end well for him.

I see lots and lots of Public Private Partnerships.

I also see Mittens Romney.

I see Carlyle Group.

I see money laundering through political campaigns.

I see the trafficking of tiny humans.

I see GM.

I see Waymo.

I see Detroit.

I see George Bush.

Trump's appointment is not subject to Senate confirmation.

President Trump on Wednesday named the State Department's hostage envoy Robert C. O’Brien as his fourth national security adviser, replacing John Bolton, who was ousted from the administration last week.
O’Brien joined the administration in May 2018 and serves as the Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs at the State Department. O’Brien, who served under Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, led the U.S. government’s diplomatic efforts on overseas hostage-related matters, working closely with families of American hostages, as well as working with the administration on developing and implementing hostage recovery policy and strategy.

Most recently, O’Brien was involved in the high-profile arrest of American rapper A$AP Rocky. Over the summer, O’Brien traveled to Sweden to monitor court proceedings after the rapper pleaded not guilty to assault after a street fight that landed him in jail in Stockholm. He was released in August.

O’Brien also served during the Obama administration as co-chairman of the State Department’s public-private partnership for Justice Reform in Afghanistan.

O'Brien will be the president's fourth national security adviser.

O’Brien’s appointment comes just days after Trump announced that he had fired Bolton—whom O’Brien worked with in 2005 when he served as U.S. Representative at the United Nations during former President George W. Bush’s administration.

“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House,” Trump tweeted last Tuesday. “I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Adviser next week.”

Bolton swiftly challenged Trump’s version of events, saying he offered to resign. The two had well-known disagreements on a range of hot-button national security issues, perhaps most significantly on plans for a troop drawdown in Afghanistan.

While Trump announced a 4,000-troop increase in 2017 as part of an effort to break the stalemate in the country, he has been moving toward agreeing to a phased withdrawal of troops. Some 14,000 U.S. troops have remained in Afghanistan, advising and assisting Afghan forces and conducting counterterrorism operations.

Inside the administration, Bolton also advocated caution on Trump's strategy with North Korea and was against Trump's decision last year to pull U.S. troops out of Syria. Bolton also led a quiet effort inside the administration and with allies abroad to convince the president to keep U.S. forces in Syria to counter ISIS and Iranian influence in the region.

Bolton later told Fox News that his "priority has always been policies that make America secure. Nothing more, nothing less."

Bolton, who previously served as a Fox News contributor, worked in the administrations of former Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush and served as George W. Bush's lawyer during the 2000 Florida recount. Bolton also served as a U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations from 2005 to 2006, and as an undersecretary of state for arms control and international security from 2001 to 2005.

Bolton replaced former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster in 2018. McMaster replaced former National Security Adviser Gen. Michael Flynn.

O'Brien's selection was praised by the family of Robert Levinson, who was allegedly taken hostage by Iranian authorities while visiting Kish Island, Iran in March 2007.

"Our family is very glad to hear of Robert O'Brien's appointment," the statement said. "He has been a strong advocate within the U.S. government for our father, Robert Levinson. This is further evidence of President Trump's commitment to bringing home Americans held abroad. We look forward to continuing to work with Ambassador O'Brien and the NSC to bring Bob Levinson home to those who love him."

Cocktails & Popcorn: Trump Caves In For Nancy Pelosi - Upon Her Return From Her NATO DAVOS Side Trip

Image result for DAVOS and drinks
"все видели тебя, Нэнси"
Well, it seems Nancy's DAVOS side trip went well, but hey, what do I know?

I definitely know the world stage is being set for Act III, or is this Act IV?

It does not matter, I just want to watch Nancy, and her rogue ass crew, while I eat my popcorn, sipping on my flute of Russian champagne, here, in Detroit.

Trump Bows to Democrats, Temporarily Ends Shutdown Without Wall

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump agreed to re-open the federal government for about three weeks without any guarantee Congress would provide money for his proposed border wall, his top campaign promise, capitulating to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Trump agreed Friday to a deal hastily negotiated by lawmakers after the 35-day shutdown, the longest in modern U.S. history, began to seriously impact air travel. Earlier in the day, LaGuardia Airport in New York was briefly closed due to a shortage of air traffic controllers, exacerbating flight delays across the country.

Under terms of the agreement, Trump will sign a short-term spending bill through Feb. 15 and Congress will immediately begin negotiating border security legislation.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the chamber will vote “immediately” on the deal. House passage also is required and could happen immediately unless a member objects. In that case, House members would have to return to Washington for a floor vote.

The president threatened that if a final deal doesn’t include money for a wall, he would either shut down the government again or declare a national emergency that he says would allow him to begin construction without congressional approval.

“We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier,” Trump told reporters in the White House Rose Garden. “If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress the government will either shut down on Feb. 15 again or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and the Constitution of the United States to address this emergency.”

Negotiations in the Senate restarted Thursday after the chamber rejected rival plans from Trump and Democrats to fund the government. Trump had refused to end the shutdown until he received $5.7 billion for a border wall and Democrats had refused to negotiate with him on wall funding as long as the shutdown continued.

The temporary funding deal came together Thursday in a meeting between Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and McConnell, according to a Democratic aide. McConnell said there would need to be a down payment on the wall -- terms that Schumer rejected.

Schumer then suggested a short-term funding measure to reopen government followed by a House-Senate conference committee on a funding bill that would focus on border security, according to the aide.

McConnell took the proposal to the White House, the aide said. Schumer and McConnell spoke several times by phone on Friday to discuss how to pass the temporary funding measure, and Schumer spoke with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was on the same page, according to the aide.
Some of Trump’s most conservative supporters turned on him after he announced the deal, including author Ann Coulter, who called him a “wimp” in a tweet, and Breitbart News, which published a headline noting the government would re-open but there would be “no wall.”

Cocktails & Popcorn: Pramila Jayapal Got Drunk On The Judiciary Juice & Jumped In The "Colored" Revolution To Re-Write Of Civil Rights History - HR 676 Medicare For All Died On MLK Day

Image result for blackface drinking
"Oh, my, Primila done sold Massa down the river!"
"Is she gonna report it on her income tax returns?
On this exciting special episode on Cocktails & Popcorn, Pramila Jayapal drank the Judiciary Juice and jumped on the "Colored" Revolution to re-write civil rights history by first:
  1. Re-writing Medicare For All behind closed doors;
  2. Letting The House Bill Number historic placeholder for Medicare For All, 676, slip;
  3. Letting 676 get slapped on a NATO war Bill;
  4. Bringing back for-profit corporations into health care;
  5. Doing it all over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday;
  6. Refusing to #sayhisname.
So, why would Pramila sell down the river to the cotton fields the only person endorsed by Martin Luther King, Jr., to carry on his legacy for universal health care for all by bastardizing and erasing the legacy of the author of Medicare For All?

Let us set up our assumptions:
  1. Someone gave her a mirror and whispered in her ear that she could be the first woman to Chair Judiciary if she did this;
  2. Someone else let her know she would get a "get-out-of-jail-free" card for participating in an espionage operation in Judiciary with Sheila Jackson Lee, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the rogue ass crew?
  3. She is a "Legal Genius" (trademark pending);
  4. All of the above.
Stay tuned, #cyberwars are real, and so is the "Colored" Revolution.

Single Payer Gold Standard HR 676 Rest in Peace

HR 676, the gold standard single payer legislation for the past sixteen years, is no longer.
The House Democrats have decided that their single payer Medicare for All bill will not carry the HR 676 number.

They let that number go this week to a bill that reiterates “the support of the Congress of the United States for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Some in the single payer movement see the abandonment of HR 676 as a betrayal of years of grassroots activism, activism that drew 124 co-sponsors to HR 676 in the House last year.
Some in the single payer movement see the abandonment of HR 676 as a betrayal of years of grassroots activism.

Now, with Democrats in charge of the House, the Medicare for All single payer bill is being rewritten, watered down and renumbered.

“For the past 16 years, HR 676 was our gold standard bill defining a national improved Medicare for All single payer healthcare system for the United States,” said Margaret Flowers of Health Over Profit for Everyone. “It was based on the 2003 Physicians Working Group proposal by Physicians for a National Health Program.”

“Now that the Democrats can no longer ignore that their base is demanding a single payer health system, we have lost both HR 676 by number and its status as the gold standard. From what we have heard, as we have still not seen the text of the draft as promised, the new health bill being written by Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-Washington) has an unnecessarily long transition period and maintains the for-profit providers in the system. The delayed transition means more preventable deaths and suffering. Keeping the for-profits means higher costs and lower quality of care.”
Jayapal’s bill is being written behind closed doors.

Last month, single payer advocates called on Jayapal to share the draft text of HR 676 with the single payer movement for review and input. She has refused.

Kay Tillow of Unions for Single Payer says that “unless the movement acts quickly to assure HR 676’s ban on for-profit institutions is maintained, Jayapal’s new bill will remove this vital section of HR 676.”

“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”“It’s a compromise that there is no need to make,” Tillow wrote recently. “We are getting hearings in this Congress. Why should we take the impact of the for-profits out of the discussion before the debate starts? We gain nothing. The ban on for-profits has been in HR 676 since the beginning. It did not stop 124 congresspersons from signing on to it. It did not stop unions, organizations, cities, counties, and many others from endorsing it. It was one of the popular provisions that all of those who have dealt with these for-profit hustlers welcomed.

Kevin Zeese of Popular Resistance didn’t miss the irony of losing HR 676 to NATO on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. It was King who said – “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”

“Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-California) the son of former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, took HR 676 and turned it into a bill to support NATO,” Zeese said. “NATO is no longer a defensive force against the non-existent Soviet Union but has become a military aggressor working with the US in illegal wars among them Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya. It has not only expanded to cover most of Russia’s border with bases, missiles, and troops but has spread to Colombia which borders Venezuela, another nation the US is threatening with war.”

“NATO is no longer a defensive force against the non-existent Soviet Union but has become a military aggressor working with the US in illegal wars among them Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya.
“To top it off, on April 4, the anniversary of the murder of Dr. King, NATO will be holding a 70th-anniversary meeting in Washington, DC. This is also the anniversary of King’s Beyond Vietnam speech. In that speech, King warned that ‘A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.'”
“Congressman Panetta’s replacement of healthcare for all with military aggressiveness exemplifies that spiritual death.”

1st Session
H.R.676

AN ACT
To reiterate the support of the Congress of the United States for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the “NATO Support Act”.
SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds that:
(1) The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which came into being through the North Atlantic Treaty, which entered into force on April 4, 1949, between the United States of America and the other founding members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, has served as a pillar of international peace and stability, a critical component of United States security, and a deterrent against adversaries and external threats.
(2) The House of Representatives affirmed in H. Res. 397, on June 27, 2017, that—
(A) NATO is one of the most successful military alliances in history, deterring the outbreak of another world war, protecting the territorial integrity of its members, and seeing the Cold War through to a peaceful conclusion;
(B) NATO remains the foundation of United States foreign policy to promote a Europe that is whole, free, and at peace;
(C) the United States is solemnly committed to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s principle of collective defense as enumerated in Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty; and
(D) the House of Representatives—
(i) strongly supports the decision at the NATO Wales Summit in 2014 that each alliance member would aim to spend at least 2 percent of its nation’s gross domestic product on defense by 2024;
(ii) condemns any threat to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, freedom and democracy of any NATO ally; and
(iii) welcomes the Republic of Montenegro as the 29th member of the NATO Alliance.
SEC. 3. SENSE OF CONGRESS.
It is the sense of Congress that—
(1) the President shall not withdraw the United States from NATO; and
(2) the case Goldwater v. Carter is not controlling legal precedent with respect to the withdrawal of the United States from a treaty.
SEC. 4. STATEMENT OF POLICY.
It is the policy of the United States—
(1) to remain a member in good standing of NATO;
(2) to reject any efforts to withdraw the United States from NATO, or to indirectly withdraw from NATO by condemning or reducing contributions to NATO structures, activities, or operations, in a manner that creates a de facto withdrawal;
(3) to continue to work with NATO members to meet their 2014 Wales Defense Investment Pledge commitments; and
(4) to support robust United States funding for the European Deterrence Initiative, which increases the ability of the United States and its allies to deter and defend against Russian aggression.
SEC. 5. PROHIBITION ON THE USE OF FUNDS TO WITHDRAW FROM NATO.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no funds are authorized to be appropriated, obligated, or expended to take any action to withdraw the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty, done at Washington, DC on April 4, 1949, between the United States of America and the other founding members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Passed the House of Representatives January 22, 2019.
Attest:

On 18 January 2018, the International Criminal Court ("ICC" or "Court") marked the opening of its judicial year by organising a ceremony at the seat of the Court in The Hague, Netherlands. H.E. Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona, President of Trinidad and Tobago attended the event, together with more than 50 senior judges representing the national jurisdictions of 25 States Parties to the Rome Statute, 8 regional or international courts, and the International Criminal Court.  Members of the diplomatic corps, international organisations and civil society were also present.

It was the first time that the ICC formally marked the opening of the judicial year, which also coincided with the launch of commemorations of the 20th anniversaryof the Rome Statute, the Court's founding treaty.

ICC President Judge Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi"In holding such a ceremony for the first time at the International Criminal Court, we underline the judicial nature of our institution, which is guided strictly by its legal framework, and we recall our undertaking to perform our duties honourably, faithfully, impartially and conscientiously", said ICC President Judge Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi. "The ceremony provides an opportunity not only to foster understanding about the Court's work but also to engage with judges of other jurisdictions in order to exchange views and experiences in our respective functions. (…) The future of the rule of law lies in dialogue and collaboration – not in isolation."

H.E. Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona O.R.T.T., S.C., President of the Republic of Trinidad and TobagoH.E. Anthony Thomas Aquinas Carmona O.R.T.T., S.C., President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, former ICC Judge and former High Court Judge of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago was the distinguished guest speaker of the event. "The International Criminal Court is the international guarantor and guardian of the rule of law, " President Carmona declared. "Today, as the ICC commemorates the milestones of an inauguration and an opening ceremony, the resonating themes implicit in the Court's very existence are accountability, transparency, independence, cooperation among Member States, Nation States and the universality of the Rome Statute."

The Ceremony was held after a fruitful judicial Seminar on complementarity and cooperation of national, regional and international Courts where participants discussed the interconnectedness of international, regional and national courts as part of a global justice system.
