In my search for answers regarding the silence of the most outspoken advocates of child welfare, I found this video of U.S. Representatives Michele Bachmann and Charlie Rangel.
Representative Rangel comes to Bachman's defense by pointing out the political delicacy with the issues of border children.
To date, the only statement from a religious leader has been Pope Francis who calls for compassion to give aid to these children who have risked their lives to seek help.
Every other religious organization has been silent.
The children crossing the border are not illegal. These children are entering under United States law, signed by President Bush. The law is a child protection law. The services are child protection.

Congress Holds AG In Contempt For Defending Childhood
This is one of those times when I have to sit back and laugh at the absurdity of child welfare law.
If I may put forth an assumption for political ruleouts on why U.S. Attorney General Holder did not release documents requested by the majority, I am quite sure both sides of the political aisle will scratch their heads in awe with the power of child welfare law.
Some of the straw gun buyers in the "Fast and Furious" DOJ scandal were kids. Because DOJ Arizona Prosecutors found that there were no laws being violated for multiple purchases of guns, there could be no prosecution. This means, under child protection law, the youth who were involved were mandated to have their privacy protected.
Basically, Congress voted to hold the U.S. Attorney General in contempt for defending childhood. Gotta love it.

Child protection: Too many cases, too little money

As a side not, Georgia lost funding because it had too much fraud going on. The state was also sued by Children's Rights where it had to expend large amounts of funding to make its child welfare system minimally functional.
It's the kind of fiscal and bureaucratic double-bind that has become familiar in Georgia as the economic slump has dragged on: The needs have grown as the means have dwindled.
Tough criminal sentencing laws of years past put more and more criminals behind bars and raised the corrections budget higher and higher, even as much of the money to pay the costs evaporated in the recession. The state legislature passes tougher ethics and disclosure laws -- as the agency charged with overseeing and enforcing them sees its budget and staff reduced to the point of near irrelevance.
But this budgetary Catch-22 is worse, because its victims are Georgia's most vulnerable population -- its children. It's like the ethics conundrum, except with a more poignant and troublesome human dimension: New laws and policies, enacted with the best of intentions and in all good faith, are coming up against budget cuts that threaten to stretch services beyond their capacity for effectiveness.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported last week that the state Division of Family and Children Services has seen its funding for child welfare services cut 28 percent over the last five years, and stands to lose millions more as federal funding to replace lost state revenue expires.
At the same time, DFCS is seeing its workload increased so precipitously that some caseworkers are quitting and others are getting physically ill from the stress. Some child welfare services, including drug screening and counseling for parents and transportation for children, have been cut back or cut out, and money for others could run out before the end of the fiscal year less than three months from now.
That's tough budget timing when DFCS is trying to be more vigilant about child abuse and neglect, and assigning more at-risk children to foster care. Just in the last year, the state added more than 700 children -- a 10 percent increase -- to foster care rolls, and abuse/neglect investigations have more than doubled.
In Cherokee County, DFCS workers average more than 30 cases each. In Bartow County, "I have caseworkers throwing up because of the stress," Juvenile Court Judge Velma Tilley told the AJC.
The conflict between needs and means is reflected even in the Governor's Office. Gov. Nathan Deal, to his credit, included in next year's budget a 10 percent increase in foster care funding. He also intends to sign a right-minded bill that broadens the circumstances under which adults must report suspected mistreatment of children -- which will increase the DFCS caseload even more.
It's often said that money doesn't always solve problems. True enough, but a critical lack of it never does. In situations like this, it is the problem.
Budget cutting, we're frequently told, is about sharing the pain. It's obvious that some Georgians feel more of the pain than others. That they are children should be to our acute shame.

Protection Orders Against Child Protective Workers - The Baby LK Report For October 1st 2011
Baby LK recaps the week in news for the child protective industry, but this week is special because you have featured the Reverend Jesse Jackson who participated in a march in front of Michigan Governor Rick Snyder's Detroit satellite office.
The protest march of about 50 people, none of whom looked like they were to be affected, was about Michigan cutting off social assistance.
The cut off is a lifetime cap of 48 months for social assistance. Reverend Jackson took to the sidewalks protesting. This is a wonderful thing, if only he knew what he was promoting.
As seen here, Reverend Jackson was carrying a sign which says, "Protect The Children", a calling card for Child Protective Services.

It's not Governor Snyder, it's former Governor John Engler and his Maura "Cash Cow" Corrigan.
The plan is to end poverty by putting all the poor under the auspices of the state in order to maximize the state's revenue from Social Security programs and the mighty Reverend is now a CPS spokesperson while championing the plight of the poor.
By the way, Reverend Jackson is having his 70th Birthday at the MGM Grand in Detroit, charging $50 a plate. All of the proceeds go in his pocket to maximize his revenue.
I encourage everyone to take a look at the main page of Michigan Department of Human Services and see for yourself that Reverend Jackson is now the official spokesperson for the Michigan Foster Care System.
The only reason I am so upset is because these so-called leaders refuse to listen to me. Refuse to go to my website. Refuse to hear anything of anything because all they want to do is make a dollar off the backs of the poor.
I am almost at the point to put it all out there, the ignorance and maliciousness of certain political directors.
