Tales Of The New Crown: More Task Forces! More Chaos!

Image result for task force
According to Wikipedia, a Task Force is:
A task force (TF) is a unit or formation established to work on a single defined task or activity. Originally introduced by the United States Navy,[citation needed] the term has now caught on for general usage and is a standard part of NATO terminology. Many non-military organizations now create "task forces" or task groups for temporary activities that might have once been performed by ad hoc (designated purpose) committees.

When a nation has intentionally unraveled the social safety net, you are going to have a substantial increase in the population of "The Poors" (always said with clinched teeth), there is a very likelihood that the health care system is going to collapse, because it was not designed for those whose souls need to be salvaged, because the task forces have not signed the contracts with those glorious Public Private Partnerships, like they did in Detroit.

So, when there is a failure, or rather, implosion of the critical infrastructure, there is going to be chaos, where Emergency Manager Emperor Pence and his Procurement Consortia Task Force will be hard at work, scheduling venues for their conferences of Public Private Partnerships, for hotel rooms, catering, limos, you know, the stuff you need for a crackerjack task force to come up with a band aid solution to figure out how to pacify "The Poors" (always said with clinched teeth) with helicopter money, that will take a few weeks to get to the people, to buy more time to pitch the glory of another bailout, because they got away with it with TARP.

On the bright side, we finally are getting national health care.

In the mean time....

McConnell appoints task forces to negotiate 'at warp speed' on massive stimulus bill

Now, as for this "warp speed" we have a few, duly processed, legislative questions about the legitimacy to the slipping in of the "technical corrections".

The art of chaos is a beautiful thing to witness.

UAW, Detroit Three launch COVID-19 task force

Detroit — The United Auto Workers and Detroit's three automakers said Sunday they are forming a COVID-19/Coronavirus Task Force to implement enhanced protections for manufacturing and warehouse employees at all three companies.

Led by UAW President Rory Gamble, the move by the union, General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co. and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV comes as government entities and private businesses across the nation institute precautions to prevent further spread of the virus.

In the United States, there's a total of 1,629 cases and 41 deaths, according to the latest figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In bid to stabilize the economy, the Federal Reserve on Sunday slashed interest rates to zero percent.

The state of Michigan recorded 45 cases as of late Sunday. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Friday issued an executive order that temporarily prohibits large public assemblies of more than 250 people. Bars, restaurants and other establishments could face legal consequences if they violate the order.

Meanwhile, Michigan's auto assembly plants are still producing vehicles.

“Workplace health and safety is a priority for us every day. All three companies have been taking steps to keep the COVID-19/coronavirus out of their facilities and during this national emergency, we will do even more working together,” Gamble said in a statement. “We are focused on doing the right thing for our people, their families, our communities and the country. All options related to protecting against exposure to the virus are on the table.”

All three companies and the UAW are working to prevent the spread of the virus including enhanced visitor screening, increased cleaning and sanitizing of common areas and touch points and implementing safety protocols for people with potential exposure, as well as those who exhibit flu-like symptoms.

Automakers already have taken steps to ensure their manufacturing facilities are clean and clear of the virus. GM, for example, is making production adjustments to clean its facilities. The Detroit automaker canceled the third shift Saturday to clean its profit-rich truck plant, Flint Assembly.

Ford is shutting down its Spanish plant in the eastern region of Valencia for one week starting on Monday after three employees tested positive for coronavirus, according to Reuters. And Volkswagen AG is closing its Chattanooga, Tennessee, plant for a day on Monday for a deep cleaning of the plant, according to WRCB in Chattanooga.

FCA's Kokomo Transmission Plant in Indiana continued to operate as normal last week after one of their salaried employees contracted the virus. FCA cleaned the employee's area and the employee, as well as those who had direct contact with that person, are now in quarantine.

An FCA employee at its Windsor Assembly Plant was placed in self-quarantine after potentially coming in contact with the virus, but there were no confirmed cases of the virus in the plant, the automaker said. Out of concern for their health and safety, workers there walked off the job Thursday afternoon. Production there restarted at 3 p.m. Friday after Dave Cassidy, president of Local 444 for the Unifor Canadian labor union, urged members to stand down.

In a joint statement for the new task force, the CEOs of GM, Ford and FCA said:  “This is a fluid and unprecedented situation, and the task force will move quickly to build on the wide-ranging preventive measures we have put in place. We are all coming together to help keep our workforces safe and healthy.”

The joint task force will focus on reviewing vehicle production plans, additional social distancing, break and cleaning schedules, health and safety education, health screening and food service and any other areas that have the potential to improve protections for employees.

Gamble, GM CEO Mary Barra, Ford CEO Jim Hackett, Executive Chairman Bill Ford and FCA CEO Michael Manley will lead the task force. They will be supported by Terry Dittes, UAW vice president and head of its GM Department; Gerald Kariem, UAW vice president and head of its Ford Department; Cindy Estrada, UAW vice president and head of its FCA Department; and the medical staffs as well as the manufacturing and labor leadership teams at all three companies.

First, Mitch McConnell called himself #CocaineMitch.

Then, the world started calling him #MoscowMitch.

So, Mitch entered into the public record all the op-eds he has published over the years, with the financial assistance of his operations behind his political personae.

Sounds like a legal defense to me, but hey, what do I know?

I know someone needs to pull each and every publication he submitted and find out who funded it.

Fun With The FEC: Elijah Cummings's Wife Is Just Like Every Other Wife In D.C.

I hope everyone understand that, for the first time in history, campaign finance operations are about to be exposed for what they truly are.

Money laundering operations.

This situation is small potatoes compared to what the GOP and DNC do.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what the FEC does because Terry McAuliffe and Betsy DeVos have yet to be addressed when it comes to their highly creative and sophisticated financial fraud schemes.

Elaine Chao, Trump cabinet member and wife of McConnell, used her post to promote a family business

I forgot to mention that #perkinscoiesucks.

ELIJAH CUMMINGS’S WIFE USED HER CHARITY TO PAY HER FOR-PROFIT COMPANY, DOCUMENTS SHOW

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 11: Representative Elijah Cummings, a Democrat from Maryland, right, and Maya Rockeymoore Cummings arrive to a state dinner hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama and U.S. first lady Michelle Obama in honor of French President Francois Hollande at the White House on February 11, 2014 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Andrew Harrer-Pool/Getty Images)Rockeymoore Cummings’s charity is funded by companies with interests before her husband’s congressional committee, according to the Washington Examiner.

“It’s self-dealing. It’s taking the charity’s resources and turning them into personal profits,” National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) investigator Tom Anderson told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “IRS law doesn’t allow a charity for this purpose. This isn’t for the public interest, this is for her personal interest. You can’t do that.”

Cummings, a Maryland Democrat, listed his wife’s LLC on his most recent financial disclosure reports as an asset worth between $250,001 and $500,000.

The NLPC filed an IRS complaint against Rockeymoore Cummings’s charity and LLC in May, alleging that companies with interests before the House Oversight Committee are potentially buying favorable treatment from the congressman through their donations to the charity.

“The problem is there are millions of dollars coming into these entities from corporations and special interests with business before Elijah Cummings, and any time you have that, every rule has to be followed or else it opens the door for massive corruption,” Anderson previously told TheDCNF.

Multiple nonprofit experts are questioning why Rockeymoore Cummings’s private company charges a 5% management fee to her charity on top of a cost-sharing agreement.

Charity Watch President Daniel Borochoff said the funds flowing from Rockeymoore Cummings’s charity from the 5% management fee is problematic given her husband’s regulatory authority over the business interests funding her charity.

“That connection could be made,” Borochoff said. “All the more reason to get rid of that 5% arrangement.

“My advice to them: get rid of the percentage arrangement and pay the LLC for whatever work its performing, but also to do whatever it can to separate the for-profit from the nonprofit,” he added.

Sally Wagenmaker, a Chicago attorney who specializes in nonprofit tax law, said that while cost-sharing agreements between charities and other entities are common, the management fee Rockeymoore Cummings charges her charity “raises a potential red flag.”

“Given Rockeymoore’s involvement with both entities, there should be very robust documentation and practices showing that the Center’s charitable funds have been appropriately used for such ‘management’ fees paid to” the LLC, Wagenmaker told TheDCNF.

Scott Walter, the president of the conservative watchdog group Capital Research Center, added: “It’s a red flag for a powerful member like Elijah Cummings to have a family member receiving money from entities with issues before his powerful committee.”

Walter said the financial details of Rockeymoore Cummings’s charity and for-profit venture “raises lots of red flags that deserve investigation by the proper authorities, even though the full picture is unclear because of the complexity of the law and the incompleteness of the publicly disclosed information.”

Cummings pushed back against the NLPC’s IRS complaint against his wife’s companies in May, saying they were a “fabricated distraction” from an organization “funded by right-wing mega-donors known for their political hit jobs.”

Rockeymoore Cummings, who chairs the Maryland Democratic Party, added in a statement that her organizations “have been guided by legal and accounting professionals and comply with accepted industry and ethical standards.”

Neither Cummings or Rockeymoore Cummings returned a request for comment.

A Prayer To Mitch McConnell For The Nomination Of Sam Brownback

Oh please, take Brownback away from Kansas,
Senator McConnell, please.
Dear Senator Mitch McConnell,

Please, oh, please, in your infinite wisdom as Senate Majority Leader, will you ensure that Sam Brownback's nomination is successfully confirmed.

The children and families of Kansas, many who have reached out to me, implore you to give us, some form of hope in our struggle to survive the scourage of the Governor's manufacturing of poverty policies, by taking Sam Brownback off our hands.

Sir, we beseech thee, in your honorary and official titles, to solicit across the aisle to secure the necessary votes to install Brownback into this federal position.

We have offered Kris Kobach as a sacrifice to appease the Senate leadership in D.C. in confirming the nomination of Brownback.

We do not want either gentlemen back.

We want Brownback to resign as governor.

He was never supposed to be governor, but Kobach manipulated the entire campaign finance system so that profits from KVC, a non-profit child welfare organization, would fund political campaigns unreported through false claims to Medicaid, stripped legislative constituency services where there are no civil rights, and has commenced the systematic stripping of property from the people to stick it in land banks as another tool to gerrymander districts, further stripping voting rights from the people.

We want him to be held to federal scrutiny of the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Justice to uncloak what he, and Kobach have done to the children, and the legacies of Kansas.

We want him in the international spotlight, for the world to see how he and his associates at KVC have profited from children legally kidnapped and sold into the human trafficking industry called adoption.

Godspeed.

Brownback heads to D.C. to meet with McConnell amid uncertainty about confirmation

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will meet with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in Washington on Wednesday as the Kansas Republican inches toward leaving his state office for a federal post.

McConnell’s spokesman, David Popp, confirmed that the meeting would take place but offered no details on the GOP leader’s meeting with Brownback.

President Donald Trump nominated Brownback to serve as the next ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom in July, but his confirmation process has moved slowly, with the governor poised to move into the final month of the year without a confirmation vote scheduled.

Brownback told reporters last week that he is hoping for a vote before Christmas. He has begun handing over some of his most important duties to Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, including the power to make Cabinet appointments and leadership over the state budget.

Brownback’s spokeswoman did not immediately respond to phone calls about the meeting with McConnell.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee narrowly advanced his nomination in October by an 11-10 vote after Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia raised concerns about Brownback’s record on LGBT rights.

Democrats have indicated that they plan to force Republicans to take extra procedural steps to confirm Brownback, which could delay a vote until next year.

Sen. Pat Roberts’ office confirmed that the Kansas Republican will join the governor during his meeting with McConnell.

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Demand Assistance for Flint Recovery in GOP Funding Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – CBC Chairman G. K. Butterfield (D-NC), Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), and Rep. Brenda Lawrence (D-MI) issued the following response to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) regarding the Republican spending bill:

Dean of the U.S. House
of Representatives
John Conuers, Jr.
“Flint’s citizens have suffered unacceptable damage and continue to suffer because Republicans are more interested in providing lip service than they are resources,” said Congressman Conyers. “Water is a basic human right and it’s shameful that many Flint residents are stuck with using water bottles to bathe, cook, drink and care for themselves and their families; some not having access to any clean water at all because they are homebound or cannot afford transportation. With funding for Flint omitted from the continuing resolution, it’s clear: minority and low-income communities are not even the slightest priority for our Republican-led Congress. We must ensure Flint’s water is made fully safe, its children and families made whole, and justice is served to those who stripped Flint’s citizens of the right to protect themselves.”

“The Congressional Black Caucus was early to call for immediate funding to assist in the recovery of the Flint, Michigan water crisis, and we are deeply concerned that such assistance is not included in the Republican’s bill to fund the government,” said CBC Chairman Butterfield. “Clean drinking water is a basic human right. Yet, since April 2014, tens of thousands of American children and families in Flint have been drinking and bathing in poisonous water –thousands of families have been harmed—and it is simply outrageous to think that Republicans have moved in a direction to not find a remedy for those who are most affected. Members of the CBC have been outspoken regarding Flint, we have traveled to the city where we met with families to hear their concerns, and we stand united in this effort to call upon our Republican colleagues to help these families recover. Flint still lacks safe water, and as elected officials, we all have a responsibility to ensure the safety of our constituents.”

“The people of Flint, Michigan have suffered enough,” said Congresswoman Lawrence. “A continuing resolution (CR) that fails to address the man-made crisis in Flint demonstrates our lack of commitment to helping the 100,000 citizens that have been poisoned by lead in their drinking water supply. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to do the right thing and include funding for the residents of Flint.”

Today, the CBC delivered this letter to House Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell further addressing concerns for the lack of funding for the City of Flint.
