Trump again attacks ‘Angry Democrats’ over Mueller probe
President Trump on Sunday again accused special counsel Robert Mueller’s team and Democrats of leaking information to the press, which he said was making up stories.
Trump appeared to be reacting to last week’s reports in The New York Times and Washington Postthat members of Mueller’s team are frustrated with the way Attorney General William Barr portrayed the findings of their investigation.
“Looks like Bob Mueller’s team of 13 trump Haters & Angry Democrats are illegally leaking information to the press while the Fake News Media make up their own stories with or without sources – sources no longer matter to our corrupt and dishonest Mainstream Media, they are a Joke!” the president tweeted.
This comes after Trump on Thursday accused The Times of not having any “legitimate sources.”
The report cited “government officials and others familiar with [the investigators’] simmering frustrations.”
In his four-page summary of the nearly 400-page Mueller report, Barr said the special counsel cleared Team trump of colluding with Russia, but didn’t make a determination of whether the president was guilty of obstruction.
The House Judiciary Committee voted on Wednesday to authorize the issuance of a subpoena for the full and unredacted report.
