Medicaid Fraud At The Expense Of A Child's Sanity

Here is a case of Medicaid fraud where the perpetrator missed his golden ship.  He should have done foster care.

See, if he would have been in the foster care business, he could have billed to his heart's content because if he was ever to be busted, there is nothing that would have happened to him.

Harassment of witness alleged in health care fraud case

Man accused of asking witness to change testimony.

Robert DuPont was convicted of two charges related to health care fraud in September, but the U.S. District Attorney alleges that hasn't stopped him from trying to change the verdict.
DuPont has been harassing one of the witnesses who spoke against him in the case, the district attorney argued in a motion to the federal court.
DuPont is free while he awaits his sentencing hearing, which has not yet been set.
In the motion, the DA asked that DuPont be jailed while waits to be sentenced for federal charges of committing health care fraud and conspiracy to commit health care fraud.
Robert DuPont (left) and his wife LaVerne leave the Federal Courthouse in Springfield last month.DuPont has allegedly been repeatedly calling and has shown up at the man's house at least once, asking him to change his testimony.
"The defendant has repeatedly asked (the witness) to meet with the defendant's attorney and tell the attorney that the government coerced (the witness) into making statements that implicated the defendant in the crimes charged in the indictment," court records said.
It's the second time the district attorney has asked that DuPont be jailed. Previously, there was concern that DuPont had tampered with a different witness before the trial began.
As part of DuPont's pretrial release, he was ordered to have no contact with witnesses in the case.
The court had not yet ruled on the first motion. Online court records indicate the court has not yet taken up the second motion.
DuPont's wife, LaVerne, also was convicted in the case Sept. 30.
Robert DuPont had previously been banned from Medicaid reimbursement because of a 2002 fraud conviction.
The couple maintained control of several group homes, including Anderson Guest House for the mentally ill and handicapped, where a fire in November 2006 killed 10 residents and one employee.
The fire was eventually ruled to have been caused by faulty wiring. No criminal charges ever followed.
LaVerne DuPont took over the Joplin River of Life nonprofit organization, which ran multiple group homes in the area. Prosecutors said Robert DuPont was the one actually running the organization, even while in prison.

Here is a perfect example of why it is so easy to get away with Medicaid fraud in child welfare.

Teen pulled knife on child protection workers

Posted 11 hours 4 minutes ago

The 14-year-old has been in foster care since the age of five.
The Northern Territory Supreme Court has heard a 14-year-old boy threatened case workers with a large knife to escape foster care.
The court heard in April this year the boy used a 30-centimetre knife to threaten a child protection worker at a Darwin office, telling them, "I'm going to take the car and if you don't let me, I'm going to stab you".
The court heard the boy planned to use the car to return to Adelaide to be reunited with his family.
In sentencing the boy to two-and-a-half years' detention, Justice Dean Mildren noted the boy had threatened to kill himself in the past and behaved in a highly sexualised manner consistent with abuse.
You can snatch a kid from his home and community, for whatever reason you make up, break him to the point that he cries out each night for death to take him in his sleep so as not to awake to another day of bloody beatings for crying to go home and get away from the sexual acts that no one in foster care will protect him from, as this is accepted as normal, and intensive individual therapy telling him everything is fault and that his parents are horrible people, to prepare him of a life of living on the streets because the pretty, rich people will never pick anyone like him because the psych meds they keep pumping into him do not take away the love and desire to go back home to his family and to make him stop complaining of the daily beatings and sexual activities, only to have him strategically plan a daring and violent escape, willing to die for his family, only to be sentenced to prison.

There is no witness tampering in foster care for all one must do is threaten termination of parental rights.  For the promises that your child will no longer have to endure what is happening to him in foster care, you remain silent.  For the threat of never seeing your child again, you remain silent.

It takes a special type of person to engage in Medicaid fraud schemes in foster care, but it takes an even stronger person to survive it.

Even though this is Australia, the funding structures are the same.

DuPont and his wife would never have been convicted of Medicaid fraud if they were in the foster care racket.

Some still do not get it
