Tales Of The New Crown: Betsy DeVos & Her U.S. Marshal Silence On Education In The U.S. Federal Courts

Sometimes, the most restrictive environment can be your own home, but, hey, what do I know?

I know the U.S. Marshal has the ability to be deputized in special operations.

U.S. Marshal Operations Each year the USMS carries out hundreds of special missions related to its broad law enforcement authority and judicial security responsibilities. It also responds to homeland security crises and national emergencies. The USMS Special Operations Group is a specially trained, tactical unit comprised of Deputy Marshals, who can respond immediately to incidents anywhere in the United States or its territories.

Betsy has lots of pending litigation before the courts.

NAACP Sues Betsy DeVos Over Federal Aid Money For Private Schools

I also know the U.S. Marshal does lots of other stuff.
Asset Forfeiture The USMS is responsible for managing and disposing of seized and forfeited properties acquired by criminals through illegal activities. Under the auspices of the DOJ’s Asset Forfeiture Program, the Marshals currently manage nearly $2.2 billion worth of property, and promptly disposes of assets forfeited by all Department of Justice agencies. The Program’s goal is to maximize the net return from forfeited property and then reinvest the proceeds for law enforcement purposes.
Witness Security The U.S. Marshals ensures the safety of witnesses, who risk their lives testifying for the government in cases involving organized crime and other significant criminal activities. Since 1971, the Marshals have protected, relocated and given new identities to more than 8,500 witnesses and more than 9,900 of their family members. The successful operation of the Witness Security Program has been recognized as providing a unique and valuable tool in the government’s battle against major criminal enterprises and international terrorism. Witness Security Program personnel are the world’s leading authorities and foremost experts on witness security matters, providing guidance and training to numerous government officials throughout the world.

Betsy DeVos publicly absent as critical decisions are made on public school reopenings

Image: FILE PHOTO: Education Secretary Devos attends signing ceremony at the White House in WashingtonAs public schools grapple with the challenge of reopening during a pandemic, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is getting criticism for her low profile.

DETROIT — As public schools grapple with the challenge of reopening during a pandemic, public education advocates are criticizing Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for working remotely from Michigan, where she owns a sprawling waterfront estate with a round-the-clock security detail paid for by taxpayers.

And while keeping herself largely physically distanced as the coronavirus continues to spread, DeVos has been a forceful advocate for President Donald Trump's demand that schools reopen in full and in person — potentially placing millions of teachers and students at risk of infection.

It's a striking bit of mixed messaging for DeVos, a billionaire heiress, major GOP donor and charter school advocate who had no experience with public education before she became education secretary. DeVos is the nation's top education official as school administrators deal with one the biggest health crises facing the nation: how to safely bring 51 million American children back into classrooms or administer virtual education during a pandemic.

As budgets are gutted, Betsy DeVos funnels money into private schools, educators say
AUG. 10, 202004:56
Questions persist as to why DeVos requires full-time protection from the U.S. Marshals Service, which NBC News reported she began receiving shortly after she was confirmed — the only Cabinet official with such an arrangement. In all, her security detail has cost taxpayers at least $25 million, NBC News has learned.

The Marshals Service wouldn't comment on the arrangement or any specific security threat DeVos faces.

Full coverage of the coronavirus outbreak

Rather than actively offer guidelines to public schools as they struggle with the immense financial and logistical challenges of reopening, DeVos told the Washington Examiner in June that she was working mostly remotely from Michigan, her home state — where she owns the 22,000-square-foot estate on Lake Macatawa — with a public schedule that has been mostly empty for the past several weeks, including no events on her public schedule for this week.

Education Department spokeswoman Angela Morabito said DeVos has been dividing her time among Michigan, Washington and road trips.

DeVos has been holding events not listed on her public calendar, including several sponsored by the conservative Federalist Society, according to Federalist Society postings. She has also participated in a few events related to private schools and advocacy for vouchers, including a roundtable July 23 at a private Christian school in Ohio and two events in the Carolinas with Vice President Mike Pence.

Her press office said she has been in constant contact with governors and state superintendents virtually and in person. Yet NBC News couldn't find a record of similar events with public school officials; Noelle Ellerson Ng, associate executive director for advocacy at AASA The School Superintendents Association, representing public school superintendents in 49 states, said the group hasn't heard from DeVos this year.

"We would stand ready to answer that call. That's my job, to be a direct liaison to the federal government," said Ellerson Ng, who said she facilitated many such meetings for previous education secretaries of both parties. The group has been critical of DeVos' proposed education budget cuts.

State officials are also pleading for more assistance.

With school reopening in three weeks, Gov. Ned Lamont, D-Conn., told MSNBC on Friday that he still doesn't know "what, if anything, the feds are going to do to help."

Days after DeVos' and Pence's visit July 29 to a classroom at Thales Academy, a network of private nonsectarian community schools in North Carolina, to highlight the school as a model for reopening, several fourth-grade students were asked to quarantine after a student tested positive for COVID-19. "Thales is a great example more schools could emulate," DeVos said during the visit. "You didn't wait for guidance from the Department of Education. You didn't ask for permission."

DeVos had no events on her public calendar last week.

Still, she continues to echo the president's demand that public schools reopen for in-person instruction, regardless of the levels of infection in their communities. She also insists that it isn't her job to help localities determine how to do so safely.

There was no mention of Betsy, but, then again, Emperor Pence was there, by Trump's side, in his Mephistophelesic fashion.

This is about Parental Rights.

Emperor Mike Pence, Jonestown & Trafficking Tiny Humans In The Name Of The Prolife Corporate Parental Rights Tax Exempt God

Jim Jones seems to have spearheaded, with help, of course, the very first model of stealin' the children, land & vote because he is from Indiana and so is Emperor Mike Pence.

I am quite sure there are those who are now mumbling outloud, in a failed attempt to turn away, and go to another link, in knowing that I am intentionally foreshadowing a complete implosion of your sacred cognitive dissonance, because you know you must continue reading.

Jim Jones was not just into the implementation of the first transposable model in the acquisition of human goods, but had launched the first chattel ranching model in human asset forfeiture.

Jim Jones was gerrymandering and it looks like he had Eli Lilly as a fan.

Jones Appointment to San Francisco Housing Authority
On October 18, 1976, almost a year after he was elected as Mayor of San Francisco, George Moscone appointed Jim Jones to the San Francisco Housing Authority, the agency with jurisdiction over public housing in the city. The appointment has been interpreted as an indication both of Jones’ power in the city and of his weakness in the political realm.

It was a victory for Jones in several respects. The position gave the Temple leader a chance to turn his political rhetoric delivered from the pulpit into action, and Jones spoke up for the poor and minorities whom the Authority was supposed to serve. The new platform also gave him new audiences and more access to press coverage. Eventually, after becoming chair of the commission, he was able to hire three Temple leaders to positions on Housing Authority staff.

There were aspects of the appointment which were disappointing, however. The Temple’s active support of Moscone the previous year may — or may not — have been pivotal in the mayor’s victory, but the interval of 11 months between the election and the appointment acted to undermine Jones’ presentation of himself as kingmaker. Just as telling is that, even though Temple spokesman Mike Prokes served on Moscone’s committee to submit and review names for appointments to commissions in the new administration, neither Jones nor any other Temple names were among the first 100 nominations. And when Jones finally was selected for a position in March 1976, it was to the city’s Human Rights Commission. As Tim Reiterman point out in his book Raven, the appointment might have been “an appropriate place for a liberal preacher. But to Jones, it was a lateral appointment – the same position he had held 15 years earlier in Indianapolis” (p. 268). Jones declined the initial offer, and seven months later, Moscone made the second appointment.

The Temple leader  served on the Housing Authority for less than a year. In August 1977, Jones embarked on his final trip to Guyana, and he did not leave Jonestown for the rest of his life.

Tales Of The New Crown: Michigan Representative Karen Whitsett Has Illuminated Ire Of The 13th Congressional District

Jonathon Kinloch is illegitimately elected, you know.

Detroit Democrats unanimously censure lawmaker who credited Trump for COVID-19 recovery

President Donald Trump listens as Karen Whitsett shares her story of recovery from COVID-19, in the Cabinet Room of the White House, Tuesday, April 14, 2020, in Washington.
"The truth shall prevail once the sun
illuminates our spirits."
Detroit — Detroit Democrats unanimously passed a resolution Saturday to censure a Democratic lawmaker who credited President Donald Trump with advocating for the drug that she said cured her of COVID-19.

State Rep. Karen Whitsett, D-Detroit, broke protocol by meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence during an April 14 meeting of COVID-19 survivors, where  she credited hydroxychloroquine for saving her life, a Democratic district leader said.

“Thank you for everything that you have done,” Whitsett told Trump at the meeting. “I did not know that saying thank you had a political line. … I’m telling my story and my truth, and this how I feel and these are my words.”

Whitsett's comments landed her in hot water with the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party organization, which unanimously passed the 15-delegate vote via Zoom Saturday ousting the first-term lawmaker representing the 9th Michigan House District.

"We have the ability to be the referee when we see our leaders out there attacking and not being willing to have a discussion to find common ground," said Jonathan Kinloch, chairman of the organization. "Based on her actions and recent statements, she's chosen to be a stand-alone Democrat with the goals of a Republican."

The resolution states Whitsett has "misrepresented the needs and priorities" of Democratic leadership to the president and public.

The resolution also notes she's participated in events with the Republican Women's Federation of Michigan to express gratitude to the president.

Whitsett, the resolution said, "has repeatedly and publicly praised the president's delayed and misguided COVID-19 response efforts in contradiction with the scientifically based and action-oriented response" from Michigan's Democratic leadership, "endangering the health, safety and welfare of her constituents, the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan."

The admonition means she will not get the group’s endorsement for this year nor will she be able to engage in the group’s activities for the next two election cycles.

Trump appeared to offer his support for the state representative late Thursday, tweeting, "Disgraceful. (Whitsett) Should join the Republican Party!"

The president also tweeted Friday morning about the controversy: "The Fake and totally corrupt News is after her as a means of getting to me. She’s smart and strong, knows the truth. Already a heroine to many!"

Until March, Kinloch was Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's community liaison to southeast Michigan. He saidthe censure "speaks to the heart of Democratic representation" and should she wish, Whitsett has seven days to appeal.

"This is done with unless she appeals," he said. "We will begin screening someone else to support that district."

The developments quickly drew the ire of Donald Trump Jr., who tweeted Thursday: "What a joke. Remember folks, the narrative can only be against Trump and if you break those rules the left will turn on their own."

'This is pettiness'
Whitsett, meanwhile, told The Detroit News after the vote Saturday that she would not engage in the "pettiness politics" of the Democratic organization because she is busy working for her district.

Whitsett said she has raised $450,000 in four days for resources in her district and is working to deliver food and cleaning products to those in need during the pandemic.

"I was asked to speak about my COVID experience," Whitsett said. "The board has various issues and I don't understand what this censure is this censure supposed to do?

"We are in the middle of a pandemic if anyone has forgotten, which is what Jonathan and the governor should be concerned about," she said, adding she didn't have any involvement with the Republican Women's Federation of Michigan.

Whitsett and her husband, Jason, both tested positive for the coronavirus. The pair took to Twitter Saturday morning to thank supporters.

"I have over 93,000 people that I'm responsible for so we're trying to still get resources out, finding resources and Home Depot, Lowes just did a delivery for us and I'm so excited about that," she told The News.

Past problems
Kinloch said the party’s problems with Whitsett date back to comments she made about House Democratic leadership and the Democratic legislative caucus at large.

In February, Whitsett told WWJ-AM (950) that House Democratic Leader Christine Greig of Farmington Hills was a racist because she wouldn’t consider an urban agenda for the caucus. Greig also pulled Whitsett’s communications staff because of an unfavorable vote on an early rendition of the no-fault auto reform bill, Whitsett said.

A later version of the no-fault auto reform legislation received overwhelming support in the state House and was signed into law by Whitmer.

Several lawmakers in Detroit or elsewhere have been censured in some way by their parties over the years because of "serious trouble with the law," but the idea of zinging a lawmaker for meeting with the president is "unheard of," said Bill Ballenger, a longtime political analyst, a Republican former state lawmaker and head of the online Ballenger Report.

"They obviously feel this is something that cannot be tolerated," he said.

Michigan State Medical Society President Dr. Mohammed Arsiwala prescribed hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic for Whitsett after she visited one of his Michigan Urgent Care clinics in Wyandotte. She had symptoms of COVID-19 and an underlying condition, he told The Detroit News.

The Trump administration has deployed about 28 million doses of hydroxychloroquine from the federal government’s Strategic National Stockpile. While hydroxychloroquine is effective at treating lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, the drug can be dangerous for people with certain heart conditions.

On Sunday, after Whitsett continued to make negative comments about the party and Whitmer, the 13th Congressional Democratic group asked her to come in for a “screening” of candidates for her house district. Whitsett refused, Kinloch said.

“Don’t play with us,” Kinloch said. “This is very serious when we ask to have a conversation with you and you choose not to.

“We’re not going to accept that. How they handle you in Lansing as far as the Democratic caucus that’s on them. But how we handle you back at home, that’s on us.”

Whitsett said she didn't have time for the screening.

"I don’t have time for politics," Whitsett said. "That’s ridiculous, during a pandemic, that they think I have time for a screening. ... I have people that need me.”

Tales Of The New Crown: Detroit Is Expected To Get More Cooties - Meet Stephen Goldstein

Emergency Manager Emperor Pence made sure to thank Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Mike Duggan.

That was nice, considering they are running those clinical trials in Detroit.

I wonder if Stephen Goldstein is going to get a procurement consulting contract to do human asset management for clinical trial patients.

They like to use the children as lab rats.

Tales Of The New Crown: Fauci Missing From The New Townhall Format

This townhall looks like the prototype for the future of open government information interactivity with the public.

I bet a congressional member can run a district with an android tablet, so there is much more time to do stuff in district.

Trump is the grand master of presentation, whether you like it or not, even when he is falsely advised

Fauci disappears from White House after contradicting Trump

Anthony Fauci
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the infectious disease expert who is the most credible U.S. spokesperson on the coronavirus outbreak, has been absent from White House events for three days after contradicting President Donald Trump.

Fauci participated in a White House news conference on Friday, where TV cameras caught him putting his face in his hands after Trump disparaged the State Department as the “deep State Department.” He then gave an interview to Science magazine on Sunday in which he agreed that Trump makes false statements about the outbreak and said his response is to “try and get it corrected for the next time.”

Fauci didn’t appear at White House news conferences on Sunday or Monday or at a “virtual town hall” that Fox News broadcast from the White House on Tuesday. Another doctor who advises Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, State Department official Deborah Birx, fielded technical questions about the outbreak at the events Monday and Tuesday.

Fauci was also expected to make an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program on Monday night, but he did not go on air.

But Fauci, in an interview Tuesday with WMAL, disputed the idea that he’s had a falling out with Trump.

“The president has listened to what I have said and what the other people on the task force have said,” Fauci said. “When I’ve made recommendations, he has taken them. He has never countered or overridden me. The idea of just pitting one against the other is not helpful. I wish that would stop and we’d look ahead at the challenge we have to pull together to get over this thing.”

Since the beginning of the outbreak, Fauci has been praised as a reassuring voice for Americans who have seen their lives upended by “social distancing” measures intended to stop the virus’s spread. Fauci’s recent absence has generated speculation Trump has sidelined the outspoken doctor.

The president on Tuesday re-tweeted a photo of Fauci covering his face at Friday’s news conference. The tweet was later deleted.

The New York Times reported Monday that Trump and some of his advisers have grown impatient with Fauci, who has notably disagreed with Trump’s promotion of a malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine, as a treatment for coronavirus. The FDA hasn’t approved the drug to treat the virus and Fauci has said there is only “anecdotal” evidence it might be effective.

Fauci is also among a group of top government health experts who have argued that in the absence of both effective treatments for the virus and widespread testing for infection, only lengthy, economically painful restrictions on daily life can slow the outbreak. Trump has shown impatience with those measures in recent days, saying Tuesday he wants the U.S. economy re-opened by Easter.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she would be concerned if Fauci’s advice was being ignored.

“Dr. Fauci is a truth-teller,” Pelosi, a Democrat from California, said on MSNBC.

Trump on Tuesday downplayed the notion that Fauci’s absence signals he is angry with the doctor, saying at a Fox News town hall that Fauci “has other things to do.” Trump was accompanied at the Rose Garden event by Pence, Birx and Surgeon General Jerome Adams.

“We get along very well,” Trump said when asked about his relationship with Fauci, whom he called “extraordinary.” “I think it is very good, you would have heard about it if it wasn’t.”

Fauci and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, where he is the director, did not respond to a request for comment.

Tales Of The New Crown: Did Judiciary Majority Members Infect Trump?

This is not good.

If Judiciary Majority Members must self quarantine, will there be network analysis to find out if the members of CPAC are infected?

What if Trump is infected?

Are Judiciary Minority Members at risk?

We had better encourage self containment for them, too.

Will Emergency Manager Emperor Pence soon reign, considering that he already has his Procurement Consortia Task Force, in place.

I wonder if Mick Mulvaney is going to infect Ireland because you know darn well Mark Meadows probably did not do any elbow bumps with him.

Who shall be the next Chief of Staff to go....?

I wonder if there are any benchmarks for legal determination of a constitutional crisis, or is that a matter yet to unfold.

Meadows, Other Members Of Congress Self-Quarantine After CPAC Coronavirus Exposure

"What should I do with this cup?"

Reps. Mark Meadows, Doug Collins, and Matt Gaetz said Monday that they are self-quarantining after learning they came in contact with a person infected with coronavirus while attending a conservative conference in the Washington area last month.

Rep. Mark Meadows, who is the incoming White House chief of staff, is one of several members who attended last month's Conservative Political Action Conference. At least one attendee has tested positive for coronavirus. Meadows says he has no symptoms and tested negative. But, his spokesperson said, "out of an abundance of caution ... he'll remain at home until the 14 day period expires this Wednesday."

That brings the number of congressional lawmakers who are self-quarantining over coronavirus concerns to six.

Both Collins and Gaetz have been in close contact with Trump in recent days. Reporters traveling with the president saw Gaetz board Air Force One on Monday.

Neither have reported any symptoms, but said their decisions to self-quarantine were also taken out of an abundance of caution.

Collins, R-Ga., ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, said on Twitter that he was notified by officials from CPAC that they discovered a photo of him with someone who had tested positive for coronavirus.

Meadows giving Trump the Cooties
"While I feel completely healthy and I am not experiencing any symptoms, I have decided to self-quarantine at my home for the remainder of the 14-day period out of an abundance of caution," Collins said.

Gaetz, R-Fla., said his decision to self-quarantine came after the same realization: that he came in contact with a CPAC attendee 11 days ago who tested positive for coronavirus.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas and Rep Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., who also attended CPAC, announced that they were taking the same step.

Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Paul Gosar Self-Quarantine After Coronavirus Exposure At CPAC

According to the office, the unidentified individual is from New Jersey and was ill during CPAC, which ran from Feb. 26 to Feb. 29. The person was hospitalized and his symptoms worsened when he returned to New Jersey.

The patient was able to recall names of people he had been in contact with at CPAC, including the four members of Congress who have announced self-quarantines, according to the office.

The risk of becoming infected for the members of Congress remains low, the office said.

Before announcing his quarantine, Gaetz was aboard Air Force One with Trump earlier Monday.

Reporters traveling with the president saw Gaetz boarding the president's plane via the front steps.

In a press briefing on Monday, Vice President Mike Pence said he did not know whether Trump was tested for the coronavirus, but the White House later clarified that he has not.

Image result for gaetz gas mask
"Matt Gaetz for Congress"
"The President has not received COVID-19 testing because he has neither had prolonged close contact with any known confirmed COVID-19 patients, nor does he have any symptoms," White House Spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. "President Trump remains in excellent health, and his physician will continue to closely monitor him."

Last week, Gaetz was seen wearing a biohazard gas mask on Capitol Hill, a move criticized as a publicity stunt. Gaetz defended the decision as a way of demonstrating his concern.

Rep. Louie Gohmert says he also learned over the weekend that he had potentially been exposed to the virus at CPAC, but will not self-quarantine. He said the House physician referred him to a top physician at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who cleared him to return to Washington. "I took the advice of the expert and returned to work," he tweeted.

Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, says he is also under self-quarantine after interacting with the infected person at CPAC. Schlapp introduced President Trump and shook his hand at the conference on Feb. 29 before the president delivered remarks.

"The president of the United States, as we all know, is quite a hand washer," White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told Fox News. "He uses hand sanitizer all the time. So he's not concerned about this at all."

Another member of Congress, Julia Brownley, D-Calif., said on Monday that she, too, is self-quarantining upon learning that a person she spoke to in Washington last week tested positive for coronavirus.

"Out of an abundance of absolute caution, my DC staff and I are self-monitoring and maintaining social distancing practices. Neither I, nor my staff, are experiencing any symptoms at this time," Brownley said in a statement.

The coronavirus outbreak is also causing members of Congress to cancel events. For instance, Rep. Josh Harder, D-Calif., announced he has cancelled a planned town hall next week and will hold a coronavirus telephone town hall instead.

At a meeting on Monday with congressional leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was reportedly asked about the prospect of lawmakers voting remotely, but Pelosi shot down the idea.

"We're here, and we're working," said Pelosi, according to a source in the meeting.

There are no plans to change the congressional schedule, the source said.

The outbreak, which has spread to more than 100 counties, has so far claimed the lives of more than two dozen Americans and roiled financial markets.

The Trump administration has summoned Wall Street executives to the White House for a meeting on Wednesday about the impacts of coronavirus on the economy, a person familiar with the meeting confirmed.

The meeting comes after the Dow plunged more than 2,000 points on Monday, its most dramatic drop since the financial crisis of 2008.

Tale Of The New Crown: $8.3 Billion Reason Why Emergency Manager Emperor Pence Has A Procurement Consortia Task Force

To cancel, then reschedule in federal government, you go through the scheduler, who is under direction of the Chief of Staff, which means there exists intraoffice communication and interoffice communication policy, along with handy dandy desk manuels.

So, for Emergency Manager Emperor Pence to claim he was unaware of the complete and utter chaos reshuffling an executive schedule, as POTUS is marked to the minutes and seconds, is nothing but a public shaming by Trump to show the Procurement Consortia Task Force is a hot mess.

What, Staff are not texting between offices, anymore?

Trump cancels, then re-reschedules trip to CDC after coronavirus scare

Trump will visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta on Friday as the coronavirus outbreak escalates.

President Donald Trump abruptly canceled and then re-scheduled a Friday visit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta as the coronavirus outbreak escalates.

Trump told reporters early Friday morning that the trip was initially scrapped because of a suspected coronavirus case at the CDC itself. After the case turned out to be negative, the trip was re-scheduled.

The last-minute change sent Trump's aides scrambling to rearrange his schedule and respond to questions about the trip. Even Vice President Mike Pence, who Trump tapped with leading the administration's response to the outbreak, appeared to be unaware of the change late Thursday.

Trump’s schedule Friday, which had been released publicly at nearly midnight, no longer listed the trip to Atlanta. It showed the president flying to the Nashville area following a series of deadly tornadoes there, and then onto Florida, where he is scheduled to spend three nights at his south Florida retreat, Mar-a-Lago.

Trump says CDC visit may happen after official said it was canceled

"They thought there was a problem at CDC with somebody that had the virus," Trump told reporters Friday morning. "It turned out negative so we are seeing if we can do it. They've tested the person fully and it was a negative test. So I may be going. We're going to see if they can turn it around with Secret Service. We may be going."

The reveal surprised CDC staffers, including those preparing for Trump’s visit. They had not been previously informed about the suspected case of coronavirus at the agency, said three individuals with knowledge of the situation.

Asked about the potential coronavirus case and whether staff was briefed, the health department declined to comment.

“CDC has many employees who have deployed in support of the nation’s response to COVID-19, some of whom are returning from areas where COVID-19 may present,” a spokesperson said, using the formal name for the coronavirus, adding that CDC staff are undergoing appropriate self-quarantine and testing measures. “No CDC employees have tested positive.”

Earlier on Friday, a White House official confirmed the president's visit had been scrapped but for a different reason. “The CDC has been proactive and prepared since the very beginning and the president does not want to interfere with the CDC’s mission to protect the health and welfare of their people and the agency,” the official said.

As of Thursday evening, the White House was communicating that the president's trip to Atlanta was still on. At around 9 p.m. Eastern time, on a trip to Washington state, where coronavirus deaths reached double digits this week, Pence announced that Trump would sign an $8 billion coronavirus funding bill during his CDC trip.

Pence did not mention a potential case at CDC headquarters, even though Trump later said the administration had learned about it on Thursday afternoon.

“We are making progress,” Pence said at his news conference in Tacoma, Washington. “As I mentioned, federal assistance was approved by the United States Senate. President Trump is expected to sign the legislation tomorrow as he visits the CDC in Atlanta.”

Ultimately, Trump signed the $8.3 billion emergency funding package at the White House just before 9 a.m. in a hastily arranged ceremony. Journalists had already gathered outside on the South Lawn awaiting the president’s departure from the White House to Nashville when Trump aides moved some of them inside for the bill signing. “We’ve signed the 8.3 billion," he said. "I asked for two and a half and I got 8.3 and I’ll take it.”

Trump has made a point to talk about coronavirus regularly but he has largely continued with his normal schedule. He spoke at a campaign rally Monday in Charlotte and a Fox New town hall in Scranton, Pa. on Thursday, where he defended his handling of the outbreak.

Trump specifically praised Pence and CDC and bragged about the praise he said the administration has received for its response. "We've done a great job," he said. "Again, we've gotten the highest poll numbers of anybody for this kind of a thing."

The CDC has been under fire in recent days for delays in testing due to earlier problems with its diagnostic tests and initial criteria limiting who should be tested. The agency says it has since fixed the problem with its test and broadened who can be tested, though experts worry the delays have already hindered the ability to detect community spread.

Trump officials have assured states that the CDC is sending enough test kits to test 75,000 people. Private companies are also expected to dramatically boost the amount of test kits on the market, though there are still questions about whether there are enough laboratories and staff to test a large surge of samples. Experts say the U.S. won’t likely be able to meet testing demands for several weeks.

More than 200 cases have been confirmed across 20 states so far and at least 12 people have died. Public health officials say they expect more cases as more people are tested in the coming days.

Trump Names Emperor Pence As Corona Emergency Manager Czar - Just Like Snyder Named Kevyn Orr

We still do not have Emperor Pence's emails from Indiana, just like we do not have Bill Schuette's emails, but, then again, it probably has something to do with emergency manager privatization powers of maximizing revenues,and/or trafficking tiny humans, but, hey, what do I know?

I know Emperor Pence appointed Debbie Brix.

Meet Debbie Brix:

Debbie Brix
Birx served as a physician in the United States Army, rising to the rank of colonel[4] before she retired from military service. She started her career with the United States Department of Defense as a clinician in immunology, focusing on HIV/AIDS vaccine research. She then served as an Assistant Chief of the Hospital Immunology Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 1985 to 1989. In 1996, she became the Director of the United States Military HIV Research Program at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, a role she held until 2005.[5]
From 2005 to 2014, Birx served as the director of CDC's Division of Global HIV/AIDS (DGHA), which is part of the agency's Center for Global Health.[6]
She was nominated by President Barack Obama as United States Global AIDS Coordinator and confirmed by the Senate; she was sworn in April 4, 2014.[7] In her role as ambassador she has led the organization to meet the HIV prevention and treatment targets set by Obama in 2015 with the goal of ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030.[8] She says that PEPFAR has cut pediatric HIV infection rates by 50 percent in several African countries.[9]
On February 27, 2020, Vice President Mike Pence named Ambassador Birx as the coronavirus (COVID-19) response coordinator for the White House.[1]

I also know that much of these emergency manager czar activities are going to be contracted out for "job creation" purposes of revenue maximizaition, probably through their children's trust funds.

It seems there is a push to repurpose HIV warehoused drugs for COVID-19, more affectionately called Coronavirus.

Pence Panned As Corona Czar-Adds Physician Debbie Birx To Team

Pence needs to learn and model good hygiene to prevent infection. This isn't it.

Pence needs to learn and model good hygiene to prevent infection. This isn't it.
Tissues are one of the great American innovations to stop
spreading the flu.
As an infectious disease physician, I (and many others) was shocked at last night’s announcement that Vice President Mike Pence was appointed to oversee the Coronavirus-19 (COVID19) response. There are a number of reasons why.

First, while the President cited Pence’s experience with healthcare as Governor of Indiana, he was widely criticized by the infectious disease community, particularly for his response to opioid use and HIV.

HIV: In Indiana, Pence was instrumental in fueling an HIV epidemic. In tiny Austin, Indiana (pop. 4200), Planned Parenthood, the only place where people could get HIV testing, was defunded. Combine that with poverty, high unemployment and drug use, and the town had over 150 cases of HIV. This prompted then CDC Director Tom Frieden to note that Austin now has a higher incidence of HIV than "any country in sub-Saharan Africa… They've had more people infected with HIV through injection drug use than in all of New York City last year." Many were coinfected with Hepatitis B and/or Hepatitis C (HCV), causing further illness and costly treatment. In fact, in the U.S., 50-80% of people with IV drug use  become infected with HCV within 6-12 months of starting injecting drug use, all avoidable with needle exchanges.

Pence was adamantly opposed to needle exchanges, although they are of proven public health benefit and efficacy in reducing these infections which can be transmitted sexually or by shared needles. Two months after the outbreak was detected, Pence said he would “pray on it.” Because of the HIV epidemic, Pence reluctantly agreed to allow needle exchanges—but only briefly and only in that county. The Chicago Tribune’s David Rutter (@theeditor50) concluded: “The public's HIV treatment bill for Austin will run $200 million once the epidemic peaks—at least $1 million to save each uninsured patient, say health experts...It's the price of inattention and indifference.”

Public Health:

Here, too, Governor Pence was known for cutting funding for the state’s public health departments. Indiana spent $12.40 per person on public health, compared to $220 for West Virginia. As a member of Congress, Pence also voted against the State Children’s Health Insurance Program although he professes belief in “the sanctity of life.”

The one thing I do know is that formal protocol has been tossed out the window when it comes to governmental action, which sounds like privatizaiton through foreign corporations, just like they did, and are still doing in Michigan.

Here, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is taking unilateral action, all by herself to manage the emergency of coronavirus, unless she was advised, but, hey, what do I know?

I know Matt Whitaker is talking about National Emergency Powers.

And, here is the first State emergency takeover in the appointment by the Governor of an Emergency Manager Czar for the City of Detroit, Kevyn Orr.

DOJ: United States Files False Claims Act Complaint Against Community Health Network - Medicaid Fraud In Indiana Under Emperor Pence

If I close my eyes really, really hard, I can recall Emperor Pence signing the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), because it came out Michigan and I just happen to know one of the writers, super duper, really well, which brings me to a dream sequence of why the Detroit Economic Club and the Michigan Economic Development Authority embraced him, the glorious leader of the Indiana Economic Development Authority, so warmly, but hey, what do I know?

I know nothing because the case is still under seal.

What I do know is that I know about the qui tam and the False Claims Act, when dealing with Medicaid Fraud in Child Welfare and the Indianapolis Land Bank, including its marvelous artifices & machinations of stealin' the children, land & votes, just like the Detroit Land Bank Authority.

I also know that you cannot be prosecuted for Medicaid Fraud in Child Welfare, under the FCA when you use your RFRA get out of jail for stealin' card when you do it in the name of the tax exempt god, because that is why it was created.

Parental Rights for Corporations.

The United States has filed a complaint against Community Health Network Inc. (Community) in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, the Department of Justice announced today.  Community, an integrated health care system in central Indiana, is alleged to have violated the Stark Law and thereby submitted false claims to the Medicare program.
The Stark Law prohibits a hospital from billing Medicare for services referred by a physician with whom the hospital has an improper financial relationship that does not meet any statutory or regulatory exception.  The government’s complaint alleges that Community had employment relationships with a number of physicians that did not meet any Stark Law exception because the compensation Community paid to the physicians was well above fair market value and because Community conditioned paying bonuses on physicians achieving a minimum target of referral revenues to the hospital.  The complaint alleges that Community received referrals from these physicians in violation of the Stark Law and submitted claims to Medicare knowing that the claims for those referred services were not eligible for payment.
“Improper financial relationships between hospitals and physicians corrupt clinical decision-making, threaten patient care, and ultimately drive up Medicare costs,” said Assistant Attorney General Jody Hunt of the Department of Justice’s Civil Division.  “We are committed to eliminating these improper inducements and thereby ensuring the Medicare program remains fiscally sound to serve our nation’s senior citizens.”
“Our goal at the U.S. Attorney’s Office is to serve the citizens and help ensure safety in their communities,” said U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler for the Southern District of Indiana.  “Hospitals are responsible for not only the health and well-being of their patients, but are also required to establish a compliance program in order to protect against improper payments, fraud and abuse as a condition of enrollment in the Medicare program.”
The United States filed its complaint in a lawsuit originally filed under the qui tam or whistleblower provisions of the False Claims Act, which allow private parties to file suit on behalf of the United States for false claims and to receive a share of any recovery.  The Act permits the United States to intervene and take over the lawsuit, as it has done here in part.  Those who violate the Act are subject to treble damages and applicable penalties.
The government’s resolution of this
matter illustrates the government’s emphasis on combating health care fraud.  One of the most powerful tools in this effort is the False Claims Act.  Tips and complaints from all sources about potential fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement, can be reported to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), at 800-HHS-TIPS (800-447-8477).
This case is being handled by the Justice Department’s Civil Division and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana, with assistance from the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services.  The case is captioned United States and the State of Indiana ex rel. Thomas Fischer v. Community Health Network, Inc., et al. No. 1:14-cv-1215 (RLY-DKL) (S.D. Ind.).
The claims in which the United States has intervened are allegations only, and there has been no determination of liability.
The year 2020 marks the 150th anniversary of the Department of Justice.  Learn more about the history of our agency at www.Justice.gov/Celebrating150Years.
