What Do Rashida Tlaib, Ethics & FEC Have In Common? #PerkinsCoieSucks

Q: What do Rashida Tlaib, Ethics & FEC have in common?

A: Perkinsoiesucks

It seems Rashida Tlaib, et al, have a disregard for due process because there exists multiple, ongoing investigations pertaining to the 13th Congressional District, but then again, we are dealing with "Legal Geniuses" (trademark pending).

Taken from the Office of Congressional Ethics Referral:
The decision to pay Rep. Tlaib a salary from the campaign remained a source of concern for Rep. Tlaib, and thus for her campaign staff, throughout her campaign. Ultimately, the campaign paid Rep. Tlaib $45,500.00 between May 7, 2018 and December 1, 2018.
The OCE requested an opportunity to interview Rep. Tlaib in order to address her potentially problematic salary payments. Rep. Tlaib declined to interview with the OCE. Likewise, campaign staff members with knowledge of her receipt of salary payments also declined to interview with the OCE.
It also seems Rashida and her co-conspirators do not believe they must be transparent, since the Michigan Attorney General's Office is busy, busy, busy!

It also seems NPG VAN has bank routing information for DNC campaigns.
In the bank transactions, I see "ACH/BANKCARD MERCH DEP". Are there any other entities other than NGP VAN that has the campaigns routing numbers to make transactions? - There is one transaction for a withdrawal of $2,500 on 5/11/18... it just didn't seem to match other financial activities of NGP VAN that I could see. The Credit Union couldn't tell me any more than what I can see on the on-line transactions.  p65 ref.
I am in utter shock...nah, not really.... J'ai dit une bêtise.

Brian Svoboda of Perkins Coie Sucks is representing Rashida.

Brian also represented Conyers, but, now he has died, which means he no longer has

Brian lied.

Brian is a co-conspirator.

At least we now have a cursory understanding of her motivation to impeach Trump.

Here are the Exhibits of her Ethics Referral.

If only Trump would stop obstructing justice and pull that House Ethics Committee referred DOJ IG Report from his backpocket, we would at least find out why she is an illegitimately elected, but hey, what do I know?

I know the Horowitz FISA IG Report is to be released December 9, 2019.

I know Trump is obstructing justice because there is an Order of Protection for the Whistleblower from the Highest Authority.

Rashida knows who the Whistleblower is.

Someone should ask her to identify the whistleblower, because the information is already public knowledge, in the public record.

Let us sit back, and enjoy cocktails and popcorn to see what happens next because all those freshmen candidates Nancy propped up the those 2018 Congressional Districts by and through the techniques of gerrymandering, are going ahead full steam with the impeachment.

(This is the part where Nancy Pelosi sells Rashida down the river.)

Ethics panel extends probe; report says Tlaib likely misused campaign funds

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., asks a question during a House Financial Services Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, on housing finance plans.
"I did nothing wrong because I am a Legal Genius."
The House Ethics Committee said Thursday it's extending an investigation into Rep. Rashida Tlaib and released a report that alleged there's "substantial reason to believe" she misused campaign funds.

The report from the Board of the Office of Congressional Ethics focused on payments Tlaib's campaign made to the Detroit Democrat after the Nov. 6, 2018, election but before she took office. The report recommended the matter receive further review and even suggested the committee subpoena the freshman lawmaker and three campaign staffers.

Tlaib has denied wrongdoing.

Under federal regulations, candidates are generally allowed to receive salary payments from their own campaigns. However, one of the many conditions for those payments is they must be for work performed through the date of the general election.

"Rep. Tlaib, through her counsel, argues she complied with these conditions; however, several documents provided to the OCE by Rep. Tlaib suggest otherwise," the report said. "Specifically, documents provided to the OCE indicate Rep. Tlaib was paid for work she performed after November 6, 2018 — the date of the general election."

Tlaib received a $2,000 payment on Nov. 16 and a $15,500 payment on Dec. 1, according to the report. The other payments she received from her campaign — $28,000 total — occurred before the election.

The report included an email from Tlaib's campaign treasurer to campaign staff. The email said "for most of us" the pay period for Dec. 1 checks was  "Nov. 16, 2018 to December 31, 2018."

The OCE board unanimously recommended further review of the allegation that Tlaib converted campaign funds to personal use. A press release from the House Ethics Committee said "in order to gather additional information" the committee will review the matter.

"... Out of fairness to all respondents, and to assure the integrity of its work, the committee will refrain from making further public statements on this matter pending completion of its initial review," said a statement from top members of the House Ethics Committee.

The Ethics Committee is evenly divided among five Democrats and five Republicans, though it is chaired by Democratic Rep. Ted Deutch of Florida.

A formal response from lawyers for Tlaib called the report "unprecedented." The response noted the House is looking into events that occurred before Tlaib took office and that are traditionally handled by the Federal Election Commission.

Tlaib's lawyers said the payments that occurred after the election were "to catch up on the salary which she had accrued, but had theretofore been withheld."

In a statement, Tlaib said she had to leave her job as a civil rights attorney to campaign for the U.S. House in 2018 while raising two sons as a single mother. Federal regulations allowed her to receive a salary, and she "received the minimum salary payments necessary for me to meet my personal financial obligations, while ensuring that the campaign reserved the resources needed to reach voters," the freshman lawmaker said.

Tlaib's statement added, "I look forward to the Ethics Committee’s prompt resolution of this matter in my favor, and I hope my experience will clear more room for people like me to run for office by availing themselves of FEC innovations that level the playing field, like paying a non-incumbent candidate salary or covering childcare expenses with campaign funds, so that financial privilege is not a prerequisite to participate in our democracy."

Rashida Tlaib Was Mean To Trump

UPDATE: The original video has been removed by Youtube, so I put up another one, 4719.

That was very mean for Rashida to call Trump, a sitting president, a muthafukker.

Then again, she was mean to my Sweetie.

This gave me saddy face, again.

But, I am quite sure she will not say anything mean about me, considering the fact I am a woman, a whistleblower, and the simple fact that child welfare has those privacy laws.

I first met Rashida at Southwest Solutions on a child welfare case.

I bet Trump has something in his backpocket that would make Rashida stop being mean.

Your son was right, Rashida, "bullies never win" and neither do those who were mean to my Sweetie.

You should really talk to Nancy Pelosi, or a good lawyer over there at Sugar Law.

“People love you and you win,” the video showed Tlaib telling supporters Thursday night. “And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Momma, look you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t, because we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the motherf***er.’”

Rashida Tlaib uses expletive in cry to impeach Trump

Washington — Newly sworn-in Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Detroit told a cheering crowd that “we’re going to ... impeach the mother (expletive),” referring to President Donald Trump.

After the video of her remarks went viral on social media, Tlaib tweeted Friday morning: “I always speak truth to power. #unaplogeticallyme.”

The video clip starts with Tlaib recounting her son telling her, “‘Look, Mama, you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t because we’re going to go in there and we’re going to impeach the (expletive).’”

Tlaib was sworn into Congress Thursday, succeeding former Rep. John Conyers Jr. this week in representing Michigan’s 13th District, which includes parts of Detroit and Wayne County.

Tlaib has previously called for impeachment proceedings against Trump. During orientation last November, she gave each member of the the freshman class a book arguing for his impeachment.
"I have been very open from the beginning that this is about electing the jurors to impeach this president — in many ways holding him accountable," she told Detroit News last week.

"I wanted make sure my new colleagues understand we have a duty and responsibility in the balance of government, and we have to hold him accountable and have to have a transparent process."

In a tweet Friday morning, Tlaib repeated her call for change, saying that she "will always speak truth to power" and later adding, "This is not just about Donald Trump. This is about all of us. In the face of this constitutional crisis, we must rise."

"Congresswoman Tlaib was elected to shake up Washington, not continue the status quo. Donald Trump is completely unfit to serve as President," Denzel McCampbell, spokesman for Tlaib's office, said in an emailed statement. "The Congresswoman absolutely believes he needs to be impeached.

She ran and won by making this very clear to the voters in her district. Donald Trump’s actions have harmed the 13th Congressional District and this country, and Congresswoman Tlaib will not stay silent while this happens."

This is not just about Donald Trump. This is about all of us. In the face of this constitutional crisis, we must rise.

— Rashida Tlaib (@RashidaTlaib) January 4, 2019
Tlaib was escorted from the audience of Trump's August 2016 Detroit Economic Club speech after disrupting it.

Tlaib’s former campaign spokesman described the congresswoman as a “force of nature” whose “unwavering passion for the people of the 13th“ includes a bringing some of the grit from that district to D.C.

“I think she sees the president as the biggest threat to the middle class and working men and women and she is determined to put a crimp in those plans,” said T.J. Bucholz, who now is an advisor for Tlaib.

From the traditional Palestinian dress she wore for her swearing in, to her animation on the floor, to her comments Thursday night, Tlaib has shown “she’s going to be a different kind of Congresswoman,” Bucholz said.

“She does not mince words,” Bucholz said. “Rashida will tell you exactly what she thinks.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, speaking Friday to a town hall sponsored by MSNBC at Washington's Trinity University, said she didn't like Tlaib's choice of words and isn't ready to pursue impeachment, calling it "divisive."

"I probably have a generational reaction to it," Pelosi said, according to NBC News. "I'm not in the censorship business. I don't like that language, I wouldn't use that language, but I wouldn't establish language standards for my colleagues."

The speaker added that Tlaib's remark was "nothing worse than the president has said."

Cocktails & Popcorn: The Perfection Of Absurdity - Legal Genius Larry Klayman & Laura Loomer Are Coming To Detroit To Defend John Conyers' Legacy

I am quite sure FinCEN is monitoring the financial
transactions of Laura's candidacy.
On this exciting episode of Cocktails & Popcorn, we have Laura Loomer, a stand up comedian, filing a suit of law against Rashida Tlaib, my favorite "#MeToo Girl" through her attorney Larry Klayman. who may not be her attorney if he is suspended from practicing law.
The absurdity of this action is pure art which deserves to be displayed in the annals of history, so here we go.

I bet John Ratcliffe is already on the list to be deposed.

It would be such a shame for it to be found that Laura Loomer was using this lawsuit as a form of electioneering and to solicit campaign contributions, having sworn an oath of office to uphold the U.S. Constitution as a U.S. Congressional Candidate, or even just for personal inurement, like Ilhan Omar has been accused.

That would be awkward.

Rashida snatched Laura's phone at a campaign event.

Laura solicits Larry Klayman, the man who set up Judicial Watch, a foreign corporation, in Michigan, to file pro hac vice a case in Minnesota against Rashida, alleging violations of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which just so happens to be about parental rights, child welfare, where I was one of the original writers of the Michigan Resolution, that was bastardized by people like Larry Klayman in this action.

But, I digress because this is the part that made me giggle the most:
At that time on August 11, 2018, Rashida Tlaib was essentially unopposed in
her election for Michigan's 13th congressional district for the U.S. House of
Representatives.

Rashida Tlaib ultirnately won the general election on Novernber 6, 2018, with 84.2% of the vote. Minor candidates Sam Johnson received 11.4% of the vote and D. Etta Wilcoxon won 4.1 % of the vote. However, after winning the primary, Tlaib was assured of election to Congress.
Larry Klayman has just voluntarily injected himself, and his newest client, Laura Loomer, into the 2016 & 2018 Election Fraud Investigation of Detroit, where I will be doing colored commentary as the Celestial Goddess of the Woodshed.

You can tell Larry is a "Legal Genius", (trademark pending) because he did not name the U.S. House of Representatives, which means he has to amend the complaint, but that may be an issue if Rashida was there in her personal capacity.

Better be safe, Larry, and subpoena the previous office holder of the Michigan 13th Congressional District, just to make sure you got all your "religious discrimination" and election information correct.

#sayhisname

That way, DHS and DOJ can come in with the U.S. Treasury, because they are the ones who possess the powers to strip those pesky attorney client privileges and immunities.

And, of course, we must definitely invite Vladimir Putin, because everyone keeps saying he was naughty and interfered in the 2016 & 2018 elections, so he would know all about how Rashida and Brenda Jones won the Michigan 13th Congressional District Seat.

I would be remiss not to invite the Michigan Democratic Party and Michigan Republican Party, too, because they possess information on how Rashida and the entire cast of congressional candidates became qualified to run in the 2018 election.

Of course, the entire Michigan Governor's cabinet must be subpoenaed.

Joselyn Benson has a Great Repository with all the information that will be needed by both Plaintiff and Defendant.

Brenda Jones sat on the Detroit Board of Elections, along with Mayor Mike Duggan and our favorite Corporate Counselors, Butch Hollowell and Larry Garcia.

Volodymyr Zelensky Viktor Yushchenko and Viktor Yanukovych definitely know stuff on how Rashida and Brenda won that seat, so they must all get subpoenas, too.

Will Larry and Laura get discovery on Humpty Dumpty because that would smash their entire religious defense argument against Rashida as Jeffrey Epstein's brother, Mark, who are both jewish, were supportive of Rashida?

We will only know upon depsition of BiBi Netanyahu, because he knows how Rashida and Brenda got elected, too.

Since CAIR was identified in the complaint, we just have to invite Dawud Walid, whose friend is a friend of Laura's friend on that Youtube foreign propaganda election interference show.

Of course, Trump must be deposed, because he keeps obstructing justice by keeping that IG Report in his backpocket.

I bet no one will subpoena me.

That thought gives me the Saddy Face.

Will Rashida refer the matter to #perkinscoiesucks?

I should be naughty and petition for the case to be enjoined in the Detroit Grand Jury case....

Oups, j'ai dit une bétise!

Conservative Activist Laura Loomer Files $2M Lawsuit Over Phone Grabbing Incident At Ilhan Omar Event

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Conservative activist Laura Loomer is suing Rep. Rashida Tlaib over an incident that happened at a campaign event last year in Minneapolis, seeking $2 million in damages for alleged assault and battery.

Loomer, who is currently running for Congress in Florida’s 21st District, claims that the Michigan congresswoman assaulted her when she grabbed her phone at a campaign event for Ilhan Omar at Holy Land deli last August.

Tlaib was campaigning at the northeast Minneapolis restaurant for Omar, who was then running for Minnesota’s 5th District. Both Tlaib and Omar were elected to the U.S. House that November, becoming the first Muslim women in Congress. The two are half of the progressive group of lawmakers known as “the squad.”

Video of the campaign event at Holy Land shows Tlaib grabbing Loomer’s phone as she records her, asking if Tlaib considers Hamas a terrorist organization.

According to the lawsuit, Tlaib “violently grabbed” the phone as Loomer was working as a journalist, seeking to understand Tlaib’s positions on Israel and Palestine. (Tlaib is the daughter of Palestinian immigrants; Loomer is Jewish).

Freedom Watch, the conservative group that filed the lawsuit, says that Loomer is suing Tlaib not for political purposes, but to hold the congresswoman accountable for her “unhinged hatred for Jews and Israel.”

Larry Klayman, the founder of Freedom Watch, also filed a complaint against Omar earlier this year, seeking a Justice Department investigation into the Minnesota congresswoman.

Rashida Tlaib Is Mean To Trump & The Legacy Of Detroit

"T'is better to be vile than vile esteem."

Rashida Tlaib shall be honored in the annals of history as the tale of the public official who breached the children's trust.

Rashida has bastardized the legacy of the Congressional Seat of Detroit, Conyers' former seat, and by this act alone, I believe her congressional members have grounds to bringforth a call of expulsion from the body.

Rashida is attempting to bleachbit civil rights history, again, but in this instance, it is the legacy of impeachment.

Rashida engages in insurgent actions, repugnant to my constitution, becoming of "The Elected Ones".

I should file an Ethics Complaint.

Nah.

I got popcorn.

A man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon this world.

Tlaib launches sale of 'Impeach the MF' T-shirts

U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s re-election campaign is capitalizing on calls to impeach President Donald Trump with a line of T-shirts sporting her January call to “Impeach the mother (expletive)!”

Priced at $29 each, the T-shirts come in six different designs sporting the Detroit Democrat’s infamous call for Trump’s impeachment as part of an American flag or as a hashtag.

“You’ve asked for ‘em. And now we’ve got ‘em,” according to the Thursday email from Team Rashida.
The T-shirts reference a story Tlaib recounted soon after being sworn into office in early January 2019 at a MoveOn.org and New American Leaders party. In an address that was filmed and later went viral, Tlaib recounted her son telling her, “‘Look, Mama, you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t because we’re going to go in there and we’re going to impeach the mother (expletive).’”

The comment sparked a bipartisan backlash, including condemnation from Trump who called Tlaib’s comments “disgraceful” and “disrespectful.”

Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga of Zeeland slammed the T-shirts as inappropriate, saying he’d be letting his constituents know about them.

“Can you imagine the outrage if I had put a T-shirt together like that for impeaching President Obama?” Huizenga said.

“First of all, my mother would have called me and told me, ‘Shame on you.’ Then I would have heard from my Republican colleagues asking me, ‘What in the world are you doing?’” he added.

“Then I would have to face myself in the mirror and my kids and explain what’s going on, at the same time I’m getting preachy about decorum and how we need civility in politics.”

Tlaib hasn’t been shy about repeating calls for Trump’s impeachment, which included her introduction in late March of an impeachment resolution. But a recent whistleblower report alleging Trump abused his office’s power to “solicit interference from a foreign country” appears to have fueled Tlaib’s determination.

Tlaib's message is one familiar to people in the 13th Congressional District and one that some have grown to accept or embrace, said TJ Bucholz, Tlaib's campaign spokesman.

"Especially for Rashida’s supporters, it's probably a fun item and maybe a collectible item to have," Bucholz said.

The actblue.com web page advertising the T-shirts notes the nation is “at the most critical moment in our movement to impeach Donald Trump,” but that momentum and volume is needed to ensure swift action.

“Get your ‘Impeach the MF’ t-shirt today to show your support for our movement to impeach Donald Trump and support Rashida’s re-election campaign!” the website said.

The website notes that the items are being offered as a gift in return for a contribution of $29 and that Tlaib “is solely responsible for producing and shipping your gift.”

Cocktails & Popcorn: The Truth Always Wins In Detroit - Trump v. Rashida

Image result for watching a movie
"Well, it took them long enough to get to Detroit!"
Oh boy!

We are finally in Detroit and it is the week of our birthdays.

I wonder how Rashida is going to release the truth about her election, considering there was *russian/israeli/ukrainian* interference when it comes her successfully winning the Michigan 13th U.S. Congressional District seat.

Perhaps, Trump will stop obstructing justice and pull that IG Report from his back pocket for our birthdays.

If he does, the world will need lots of cocktails and popcorn.

You can hear her interview here.

Since Rashida ran her entire campaign on impeaching Trump, I made sure she had all the materials necessary to carry out her ingenious plan.

Whatever you do, Rashida, do not listen to Nancy.

Only listen to Jolly Jerry because he knows alot about Israel....and Russia....and the Ukraine....and impeachment.

Here is a bit of Palestinian history Rashida does not know about.

We should ask the "Legal Geniuses" (trademark pending) over there at Fox Rothschild to share more history with Rashida.

President Trump slams Rep. Rashida Tlaib for Holocaust comments

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Monday criticized U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Detroit, for comments she made about the Holocaust, calling them "horrible and highly insensitive."
"She obviously has tremendous hatred of Israel and the Jewish people," said Trump.

Tlaib maintained that she has no such negative feelings and that her comments were being misconstrued by Trump and others as a means to attack her and other Democrats politically. Tlaib has also talked in the past of the need to address human rights concerns in Palestinian territory.

"This behavior by a bankrupt Republican leadership is dangerous and only increases hateful rhetoric from those who want to cause harm to oppressed people," Tlaib said in a statement Sunday night. "The Republican Party has reached a new low."

A Palestinian-American and one of the first Muslim women to serve in Congress, Tlaib has been under attack by Republican commentators because of remarks she made regarding the Holocaust on an episode of Yahoo News' "Skullduggery" podcast aired last week.

While Tlaib was speaking of the need for a solution to human rights concerns among Palestinians living in Israeli territory, she mentioned that a recent Holocaust remembrance had a "kind of calming feeling" for her because of the role her ancestors played in providing a "safe haven" for Jews whether they did so willingly or not.

"When I think of the Holocaust and the tragedy of the Holocaust and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians, who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence, in many ways have been wiped out, …all of it was just in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews post the Holocaust, post the tragedy and horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time," she said, according to a transcript provided by her office. "And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right? ... But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them."

Tlaib went on to say that she is "coming from a place of love, for equality and justice" for all people and that she wants "a safe haven" for Jews.

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., were among those criticizing Tlaib for the comments, with Cheney urging House Democratic leadership to punish her in some way.

The flap over the comments comes after another Muslim member of Congress, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was sharply criticized for remarks about people pushing for loyalty to Israel, which some felt were antisemitic.

On Sunday, Tlaib tweeted, "Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win."

Tlaib and Trump have been fighting since she came into office in January. She introduced a resolution calling for an investigation into whether Trump should be impeached and invoked a curse word when speaking of him early this year.

Rashida Tlaib Wants To Replace Conyers

Rashida Tlaib wants to run for congress.  <=== Make sure to click the links!

What an interesting way to entitle an article by insinuating that Conyers is still in his seat.

Quite the political move, just in case he is still in his seat, or will arise from the ashes to reclaim his seat, but hey, what do I know?

Either that or she is trying to co-opt some cheap political shot with the Conyers name recognition in making history for political clout.

In any event, to assist Rashida Tlaib in her "push to Impeach Trump" I thought about her best interests by supporting her lofty endeavor in providing her with the original federal impeachment complaint, below.

To further encourage her passionate campaign to make history by doing nothing to address the frauds in the 13th Congressional District which are currently under federal investigation, particularly her contractual demolition associations with the Detroit Land Bank Authority through Southwest Solutions, child trafficking in foster care and adoption, and questionable campaign finance activities, which she has a strong expertise in this industries, I have provided a link to a one-stop-shop to "quiet title" all the decades of work John Conyers, Jr. has done in the legal realm of impeachment.

Rashida Tlaib should consider herself an expert when it comes to the subject matter of emoluments.

Dem hoping to replace Conyers pushes Trump impeachment

Rashida Tlaib could make history this fall as the first Muslim woman elected to Congress - and she's making impeaching President Trump central to her campaign.

Tlaib is running in a crowded Democratic primary on Aug. 7 to fill the deep-blue Detroit seat last held by former Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D), who resigned amid sexual harassment allegations.
And while some Democrats - especially party leaders - have shied away from talk of impeaching Trump, Tlaib plans to make impeachment a core part of her campaign.

"I keep telling people this is about electing a jury that will impeach him, and I make a heck of a juror," Tlaib, who became the first Muslim woman elected to the Michigan state legislature in 2009, told The Hill.

"Not only as a mother raising two Muslim boys that are now questioning if they can tell people whether or not they're Muslim ... what I hear from people supporting me is there's a tremendous amount of hope sending a voice like mine to Congress."

This isn't the first time Tlaib has sought to confront Trump. In August 2016, Tlaib was one of a dozen women escorted out of the Detroit Economic Club for interrupting Trump's speech and telling the president to read the Constitution.

Voters in Michigan's 13th District are used to hearing impeachment talk from their representative - Conyers wanted to impeach former President George W. Bush during Bush's second term. Now political observers in Michigan see Tlaib attempting to take up that mantle.

"For Rashida, her play is not so much being the farthest-left candidate on policy, it's being the farthest left on rhetoric and tactics," said Democratic strategist Susan Demas. "And she's not afraid to say, 'If I'm elected, I'm impeaching Donald Trump, that's my calling card.' "

Tlaib further bucks Democratic leaders by saying that, if elected, she "probably" won't vote for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to keep her leadership role.

A growing number of Democratic candidates running in swing districts this cycle have said they won't vote for Pelosi. But the frustration for Tlaib, who's running in a solidly Democratic district, mainly stems from how Pelosi handled the Conyers situation as the harassment allegations against him grew.

Pelosi initially defended Conyers, dodging questions about whether he should resign and calling on the House Ethics Committee to investigate the allegations. But a few days later, Pelosi called on Conyers to step down.

The committee opened up a probe in late November, but those investigations typically don't continue once a member leaves office.

Psst!  The matter was referred to the U.S. Department of Justice.  All you had to do was acknowledge that Perkins Coie Sucks.

"I said 'probably not' about Nancy Pelosi primarily because it was very painful to see what happened with John Conyers," said Tlaib, who said she's a victim of sexual harassment herself.

"I do believe the survivors, and I just felt like they deserved a much better process instead of him being pushed out to retire. Because honestly all of us were like, 'We need an Ethics Committee hearing. We want to know what's happening and how to make sure it doesn't happen again.' "

All you have to do is read my blog.

Conyers's seat is a majority-black district that encompasses much of Detroit but also extends far into the suburbs. The Democratic stronghold - which the party's presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, swept by 60 points in 2016 - has attracted nine other candidates, but the field won't be settled until the April 24 filing deadline.

You really need to read my blog as it seems you have lack the legal acumen of the federal investigative process surrounding the integrity of the 2016 Michigan Primary and General Election.

Girl, we should do lunch.  I will catch you up to speed.

There will be two November elections taking place in the 13th District: one to fill the remainder of Conyers's term, which ends on Dec. 31, and the other to serve out the next two-year term for the seat starting on Jan. 1, 2019.

Michigan political strategists say there's a path for nonblack candidates like Tlaib in the race.
Tlaib, the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, represented southwest Detroit in the state legislature from 2009 to 2014, when she had to leave her seat because of term limits. As a state lawmaker, she's won elections representing a predominantly African-American and Latino district.

Labels, labels, labels.  Waiting for the scan codes for those predictive models!

While running for her last term, Tlaib said she knocked on close to 30,000 doors.

Now she plans to mount another aggressive canvassing operation for the House seat. Tlaib's campaign told The Hill that she raised more than $500,000 in the first fundraising quarter of 2018 and knocked on 12.5 percent of the doors in the district since launching in February.

Where the hell did you find that much money?  I will wait for your first FEC report, trust me.

But Tlaib isn't the only nonblack candidate seen as a strong contender. Strategists point to Westland Mayor Bill Wild, a white candidate and the only hopeful in the race from outside of Detroit, as a potential contender who could draw on suburban votes to surpass the rest of the field.

Label, label, label.

The primary has also sparked some family drama, with two candidates with the Conyers name running for the seat.

Conyers shocked political observers when he endorsed his son, John Conyers III, following his resignation. His son, who has no political experience and has split his time between Los Angeles and Detroit, officially jumped into the race in late January.

That'll pit him against his cousin, state Sen. Ian Conyers, who was elected to office in 2016 and has a much larger base of support.

While the Conyers name is still highly regarded in the district, strategists believe that two Conyers candidates in the race will ultimately split their vote while benefitting the other candidates.
"One of our residents said it beautifully: 'You shouldn't be able to inherit this seat, you have to earn it,' " Tlaib said.

But political observers also expect a strong showing from Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones, a black candidate who has drawn a powerful endorsement from Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. Many see her as a leading contender who's expected to shore up most of the support from the business and labor communities.

Label, label, label.

"[Tlaib] is a dynamic campaigner," said Bill Ballenger, a former state GOP lawmaker who now runs the Ballenger Report news site. "She's going to be a major contender. It's conceivable she could win, but Brenda Jones has a leg up on her in that she has a much bigger base in the district than Tlaib has."

And Brenda Jones is endorsed by Mayor Mike Duggan.

Cocktails & Popcorn: Who Files First - Rashida Or Mueller?

Image result for have a drink
"Who files first? Rashida or Mueller?
The suspense is making me giddy."
Rashida.

The gift that keeps on giving.

I wonder how many co-sponsors she will have.

I wonder if she is going to file her impeachment resolution before or after Mueller's investigative actions are made public.

It does not matter, either way is going to be fun to watch.

The entire world is watching Rashida, but for reasons other than impeachment.

Tlaib plans to file impeachment resolution against Trump

Washington — Freshman U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib said Wednesday she plans to file a resolution this month to start impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, calling him "dangerous to our American democracy."

The Detroit Democrat's resolution will call for the House Judiciary Committee to investigate grounds for Trump's impeachment, she said.

"I can't wait to be able to file this resolution because I think a transparent and open investigation into the president's dealings is important," said Tlaib, surrounded by about 20 impeachment activists in her Capitol Hill office.

Tlaib has long called for Trump's impeachment. She made national headlines hours after her January swearing-in by issuing a cry at a Washington party to "impeach the mother(expletive)."

But Democratic House leaders have generally said it's too soon, urging members to wait on the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. Tlaib indicated Wednesday that she's not waiting.

"There is a sense of urgency on my part and many of us," she said.

I bet there is.

"I think every single colleague of mine agrees there's impeachable offenses. That's one thing that we all agree on. We may disagree on the pace. We may disagree that we have to wait for certain hearings, but at the same time, I think they all know the dangers of allowing President Trump to continue to violate our United States Constitution."

U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg, R-Tipton, said Wednesday he doesn't believe Tlaib's resolution is called for, saying it's time for things that "move us forward, as opposed to picking fights that you can't win."

"But it's allowed, and that's something that any member of Congress can do," Walberg said.

Tlaib's would not be the first articles of impeachment filed against Trump this year.

California Rep. Brad Sherman, also a Democrat, re-introduced articles of impeachment against Trump on the first day of the new Congress after filing a similar resolution in 2017.

Tlaib, a former state lawmaker, slammed Trump for what she says are conflicts of interest created by his failure to divest from his businesses and accused him of obstructing justice in relation to the probe into Russian contacts with his campaign.

"For me as a member of Congress, it is so important to me that I check this president and even my colleagues when I feel like they are not abiding by the United States Constitution and upholding their oath," Tlaib said.

"Many of you have heard me say over and over again, look, he's a sitting CEO, as well as president of the United States. Understand that he hasn't divested in his foreign or domestic businesses."

She referenced Trump's tweet this week about a golf course owned by the Trump Organization in Scotland, in which he said it "furthers U.K. relationship!"

Tlaib also spoke of individuals who stay at Trump properties and then lobby the administration for "mergers and different kinds of things that they want."

"You know what we call that back home in Michigan? We call that pay to play," Tlaib said.

"This is setting a precedent. If we don't start impeachment proceedings today and hold him accountable to violating the United States Constitution, think about that. This is not going to be the last CEO that runs for president of the United States."

Tlaib said she, as a member of Congress, must follow higher ethical rules than Trump is following by not disclosing potential or actual conflicts of interest.

The White House did not respond Wednesday to a request for comment but was dismissive of Tlaib's impeachment talk in January.

"You’re not going to impeach this president when he’s had two of the most successful years that any president has had in modern history," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told CNN at the time.

"The only reason they want to come after this president is because they know they can’t beat him.

They can’t beat him when it comes to a policy debate, and they’re not going to beat him when it comes to 2020."

Walberg echoed the argument that Trump's policies are benefiting America.

"It's time now after two years of continued dissent about this president being president, it's time to move us forward — especially since his policies are working: We have a growing economy. You have low unemployment, and Michigan has been helped by that significantly," he said.

Rep. Dan Kildee, D-Flint Township, said he doesn’t think impeachment proceedings are appropriate at this time.

“Every member should make up their own mind when they think the standard has been met,” said Kildee, chief deputy whip for the House Democrats.

“But for me, when we have a very thorough, ongoing investigation that is coming our way sooner rather than later, and the committee that I serve on is just now preparing to request access to the president’s tax returns, there's enough information in the immediate pipeline that I think it's worth waiting for them to make a more informed decision.”

Asked if House leaders have cautioned Tlaib about her plans, she did not directly answer.

"When I speak to leadership, they constantly remind me I have to represent my district, and they know the diversity of all of our districts and how we approach, certain issues, and the fact that we have different styles of how do we approach different issues," she said.

Tlaib on Wednesday was joined by activists from a group called By the People, who traveled to Washington from around the country, including New York, Ohio, Oregon and California.

But not Detroit.

They held signs including "Trump is the real national emergency" and "Tick Tock, Individual 1."
Activists with the group By the People gathered in Rep. Rashida Tlaib's Capitol Hill office on Wednesday for her impeachment announcement.

How cute. Markers and poster time!

After Tlaib's news conference, they were headed to the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to demand Trump's impeachment, said Anthony Torres, a spokesman for the group.

I wonder what Nancy said.

"We are calling on every other member of Congress to be a true patriot and exhibit the bravery that we've seen from Congresswoman Tlaib here today," said Torres, speaking to the television cameras.

"At this moment, to everyone watching, join our movement. Join us. This is the time for us to really make an America for all of us, and that begins with impeachment."

John Bonifaz, co-author of the book "The Constitution Demands It: The Case for the Impeachment of Donald Trump," argues that now is not a time for traditional congressional oversight.

"In an ordinary chapter in American history, there would be a check and balance between an executive branch and the legislative branch, but this is not an ordinary chapter," said Bonifaz, who has worked with Tlaib on the issue and was at her office Wednesday.

"The remedy is to remove from office that official who so threatens the Republic. Is this how Rashida secured the 13th Congressional District seat? To suggest that we have to wait until 2020 to so-called 'impeach him at the ballot' completely contradicts the very purpose of why we have the impeachment clause in the Constitution."

Tlaib declines travel to West Bank, citing 'oppressive conditions' to visit grandmother

"All I had to do was to #sayhisname."
(FOX 2) - Hours after Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib was granted permission to enter the Israeli-occupied West Bank on humanitarian grounds to visit her grandmother, she said in a statement that she's decided not to travel there afterall.

"In my attempt to visit Palestine, I've experienced the same racist treatment that many Palestinian-Americans endure when encountering the Israeli government," her statement reads.

"The Israeli government used my love and desire to see my grandmother to silence me and made my ability to do so contingent upon my signing a letter - reflecting just how undemocratic and afraid they are of the truth my trip would reveal about what is happening in the State of Israel and to Palestinians living under occupation with United States support."

Tlaib didn't elaborate on what signing the letter involved.

On Thursday, she and Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar were banned from entering the country due to their support of a Palestinian-led boycott movement.

Israel announced its unprecedented decision to ban them after President Trump said in a tweet that "it would show great weakness" if Israel allowed them to visit. "They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds," the president wrote Thursday, calling the two congresswomen "a disgrace."

The representatives were set to visit Israel this weekend with some of their colleagues when they learned of the ban, but this was also a personal trip for Tlaib as well, whose 90-year-old grandmother lives in the West Bank.

In her letter of request to Israeli authorities, Tlaib said this would likely be the last chance to see her grandmother. On Friday, Israeli Interior Minister Aryeh Deri announced the latest twist - that Tlaib could enter the West Bank on humanitarian grounds to see her relatives. The Interior Ministry released a letter purportedly signed by Tlaib in which she promised not to advocate boycotts during her visit.

This was the best comment.

But then Friday morning she said in a statement that she's decided not to travel to Palestine and Israel at this time.

She tweeted that "visiting her grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in--fighting against racism, oppression & injustice."

"Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she wants for me. It would kill a piece of me."

"When I won [the election], it gave the Palestinian people hope that someone will finally speak the truth about the inhumane conditions. I can't allow the State of Israel to take away that light by humiliating me & use my love for my sity [my grandmother] to bow down to their oppressive & racist policies."
