The Tale Of Black Lives Matter: Maureen Taylor, Jenna Urbauer, NAACP, Temple Beth El, Turkia Mullin, Human Abedine & Detroit Land Bank Authority Propaganda Coverup Ops

The Black Lives Matter movement is currently being infiltrated by the real voices of all people.

Maureen Taylor has been calling out stealin' for as long as there have been victims of stealin' - "The Poors" (always said with clinched teeth).

This is about to get real because what has been taught in the schools and Hollywood about civil rights history and this thing called race is nothing but a noble lie.

On 11th night Detroit protest march goes to Algiers motel incident site from 1967 rebellion

The protest goes to the site of the 1967 rebellion, where one can only hope that young, out of town, protesters, will finally have an awakening to learn, what they have learned, is all a farce.

Speaking of farces...

The money from Jenna Urbauer, owner of Mandell Display Designs, is going to her favorite fake ass charity, the NAACP, because it looks like she had the privilege of acquiring one of those historic, stolen legacies, of a Detroit Land Bank Authority property, during the Great Gerrymandering of Detroit.

How quaint.

I wonder if any of the money is going to Temple Beth El?

We could ask Nancy Edmunds, but I do not believe she would be amenable to an interview, right about now.

Too bad Ann Marie LeFlamme is no longer with WXYZ, because she could have interviewed Jenna, too!

If Jenna and the Wendal "Swindle" Anthony wanted to do something about those who hail of the darker persuasion getting justice, I guess they could rally for a bit of that posthumous due process, but, hey, what do I know?

I know that we could ask Jeannie Rhee, but something tells me Mueller already has.

But, instead, I decided to find out who this Padriac Mullin was, considering the fact that his name was all on Jenna's Mandell Display Designs property address filed with LARA, now removed, as the property taxpayer of Wayne County, where, I just so happen to have found not one, but two, parcel numbers.

01 02003507. 18925 FAIRFIELD DETROIT MULLIN, PADRAIC
01 27190160. 18925 FAIRFIELD DETROIT MULLIN, PADRAIC
https://pta.waynecounty.com/Home/SearchResult

Mullin?

Is Padraic the brother of Turkia Mullin, who was kicking it hard with Bob Ficano while she was running the EB-5 program I could get absolutely no information about?

Hillary really wanted control of the airports, you know.

Did Turkia and Padriac go to high school with Huma Abedine, whose brother seems to be involve with those property tax scams and other stuff I found in the Dearborns, Detroit, Highland Park and Hamtramck?

But, hey, what do I know?

The only thing I know is Maureen Taylor is an original source and the world should listen to her, as the Black Lives Matter Movement is about to be uncloaked, for the truth to finally be revealed.

#maytheheavensfall

Maureen has been bleachbitted from the annals of cyber annals of history, but I preserved her legacy.

Maureen Taylor has spent her life advocating and fighting for the rights of the poor. Her passion put her in the national spotlight when she took on WDIV-TV reporter Hank Winchester during an MSNBC interview about the Detroit water shutoff crisis. Many saw her actions as heroic.

“It was true Maureen,” said local activist and community organizer Mike Shane of Moratorium Now! a grass-roots organization working to prevent mortgage foreclosures and utility shutoffs. “(The news segment and Taylor’s comments) gave the issue more prominence, which it needed.”

Shane said the interview illustrated Taylor’s determination and willingness to “go to the mat for poor and working people. She’s a good advocate for people.”

As state chair of the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization, Taylor works nonstop from her office on the fourth floor of downtown Detroit’s Central United Methodist Church to help struggling individuals and families negotiate with Metro Detroit agencies. Many of those she helps are people who are working mainly in low-paying jobs that don’t cover most of their basic bills.

The state chair of the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization and a 2015 Michiganian of the Year, Maureen Taylor talks about what inspired her to become a "change agent."

For 30 years, Taylor has been a voice for the voiceless. She began her career on the front lines of protest marches and rallies to protect welfare benefits for residents during Gov. John Engler’s administration. Most recently she led efforts to prevent the state from tossing 41,000 people off the state’s welfare rolls, and last year she conducted protests over the water shutoffs in Detroit.

Taylor, who attributes many of the city’s problems to a sluggish economy that is starting to rebound, said she always wanted to be a “change agent.”

“I need to be able to make a change,” said Taylor. “I have to do something.”

Her passion for the poor began at a young age. Reared in an economically comfortable home in Detroit, a 12-year-old Taylor was struck by the abject poverty she saw during a cross-country trip with her family to Disneyland in California. Young children, most of whom were under the age of 10, were selling turquoise on the side of the road or picking vegetables.

“This question about social justice meant something to me. I thought ‘there’s something wrong,’ ” Taylor said. “I knew it and I saw it.”

A trained social worker with a master’s degree in social work, Taylor also studied at Union Theological Seminary in New York City.

“At the Union Theological Seminary, the coursework was around the fundamental components of why poverty exists. It stressed the relationship between welfare assistance and employment as a bridge between the two contradictory yet dependent polls,” she said. “I learned the history of poverty, the theory of ‘surplus value’ as a component of the existing system, and what role it played in the structure of the American economy. I am a poverty scholar.”

Taylor has been praised for working with corporations, such as DTE, to implement programs to assist the area’s poor. As a result, DTE now provides a representative at Taylor’s office to help individuals and families come up with more affordable utility payments to avoid shutoffs.

Rodney Cole, DTE’s manager of regional relations for Wayne County, said Taylor has been instrumental in helping the utility company assist customers in need.

“She has the history and context with this city,” Cole said. “I have appreciated her ability and willingness to partner (with DTE ).”

Taylor says she doesn’t let those who show up at the Michigan Welfare Rights office leave without some solution to their problems.

“I try to find ways (to help),” Taylor said. “Clients don’t leave here or my desk until there is a plan to alleviate whatever is wrong.”

What we do ~ We steal Medicaid from Child Welfare, then use the funds for personal investments in land we stole from the Detroit in fake ass property tax & bogus mortgage forclosures, then snatch up the properties in the name of the tax exempt god from the fake ass Detroit Land Bank Authority, then mortgage a few times in federal grants, wiping them out in quiet titles, run the financial boon out the U.S. through children's trust funds, mostly the Ukraine, then funnel back to fund U.S. campaigns, to get chosen spokestokens elected by taking over the administrations of local & state governments, to get more crappy predictive modeling Social Impact Bond private state contracts in child welfare, where we never have to pay taxes because it is all done as a foreign takeover the U.S. in the name of the tax exempt god.

The Michigan Life Sciences Corridor (MLSC) is a $1 billion biotechnology initiative in the U.S. state of Michigan.
The MLSC invests in biotech research at four Michigan institutions: the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor; Michigan State University in East Lansing; Wayne State University in Detroit; and the Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation administers the program. It began in 1999 with money from the state's settlement with the tobacco industry. When the program's funds distributions are completed in 2019, the goal is that the investments in high tech research will have notably expanded the state's economic base.
History
In 1998, the State of Michigan, along with 45 other states, reached the $8.5 billion Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement, a settlement with the U.S. tobacco industry.[1] Former Governor John Engler created the Michigan Life Sciences Corridor in 1999 when he signed Public Act 120 of 1999.[2] The bill appropriated money from the state's settlement with the tobacco industry to fund biotech research at four of Michigan's largest research institutions.[3]
Under the management of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the MLSC allocated $1 billion over the course of 20 years, including $50 million in 1999 to fund research on aging.[4] The following year, the MLSC awarded $100 million to 63 Michigan universities.[5] In 2002, Governor Jennifer Granholm incorporated the MLSC into the Michigan Technology Tri-Corridor, adding funding for homeland security and alternative fuel research.[6]
In 2009, the University of Michigan added a 30-building, 174-acre (0.70 km2) North Campus Research Complex by acquiring the former Pfizer pharmaceutical corporation facility.[7]
A BioEnterprise Midwest Healthcare Venture report found that Michigan attracted $451.8 million in new biotechnology venture capital investments from 2005 to 2009.[8][9]

Cindy Estrada is serving her third four-year term as a UAW Vice President and currently heads the Fiat Chrysler and Women’s Departments.

She earned a degree in education from the University of Michigan and had planned to become a teacher. After organizing with the United Farm Workers union on an internship she was drawn to union organizing instead.

Estrada worked as a UAW Region 1A temporary organizer successfully organizing a number of Parts suppliers.  She helped organize workers at Mexican Industries in southwest Detroit in 1995, resulting in one of the UAW’s largest victories among Spanish-speaking manufacturing workers.

Estrada’s organizing ability was recognized by then UAW President Stephen P. Yokich, who appointed Estrada to the UAW International’s organizing staff in 2000.

She was soon appointed to Coordinator of Michigan organizing and ran the Michigan Organizing Center.  In 2007 UAW Vice President Terry Thurman appointed her as the Administrative Assistant over the Organizing Department. After Terry Thurman’s retirement UAW President, Ron Gettlefinger appointed Estrada as the Director of the National Organizing Department.

She was first elected UAW Vice President in 2010 and assigned to direct the unions UAW Independents, Parts and Supplier/Competitive Shop Department; Public Sector and Health care servicing department and the UAW Women’s Department. While in that role she was the lead negotiator for over 17,000 UAW workers in the State of Michigan.

Estrada also led negotiations for the Michigan Coalition of State Employee Unions, providing historic agreements protecting health care and establishing vital programs addressing privatization and workplace democracy for over 35,000 state employees.

As director of UAW Independents, Parts and Suppliers/Competitive Shop Department Estrada proudly honored the reason Walter Reuther urged the departments establishment in 1968: to use the UAW’s parts worker density to establish minimum industry-wide compensation standards in IPS contracts. This resulted in breakthrough agreements in seating and other major auto component part industries.

Four years later, she became the first woman and first Latina to lead the union’s General Motors Department.

The long-time organizer and activist is involved with many labor and community organizations. Estrada is a proud member of UAW Local 174, having worked at Impressions in Taylor, MI. She is the mother of twin 15-year-old sons, stepmother to four and grandmother of six. She is the widow of the late UAW organizer and retired Administrative Assistant Frank White.

Cindy sold out. That broke my heart.

I know.

I used to talk to them.

Then I would file a grievance with Michigan, strictly for documentational purposes, only, because all they did was toss, or send me a gratuitous phone call, or dismissive missive, letting me know everything was status quo.

See, there are no civil rights in child welfare because it is all privatized under foreign corporate shape shifters who like to use LLCs because it is easy to dissolve, or bankrupt, or sell, gift, trust or something, right after you get the state grants. contracts and the fake ass Medicaid cost reimbursements because, more than likely, they took out some mortgages, DLA Small Business loan, TARP, then quiet titled, then mortgaged again, or some stealin' like that.

All they ever want is to turn a profit.

How is it one can turn a profit when engaging in the healing of a child?

Medicaid Fraud in Child Welfare, of course.

Oh, there are so many fraudulent billing scams that go on in child welfare.

I used to let them take me in their offices and show me everything, including voicing their grievances that Michigan will not do a damn thing for these children.

Many of the staff should not even be in the field of human services, ever, seriously, there should be some form of ethics involved when it comes to hiring practices in human resources... when it comes to human asset management for foreign, privatized, entities.

Remember, there are no civil rights in child welfare because it is privatized, where the foreign entity comes up with its own, self-reporting, of all the wonderful things they do for kids.

Heck, you can even help run a fake ass mortgage program in Detroit to profit off human trafficking, funded by Medicaid Fraud in Child Welfare.

Just ask Bill Clinton.

State didn't investigate psych patient deaths after release from Detroit hospital

Lawmakers call for more review of post-release deaths

Notification of Death Report
LANSING (WXYZ) — Since 2017, at least four patients have died within two days of being released from StoneCrest Hospital, a private inpatient psychiatric facility in Detroit. Despite being notified of each of the deaths, state officials never investigated.

Officials with LARA, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, say they’re not legally required to follow up on deaths like these, nor are they empowered to by statute. Today, in response to an investigation by 7 Action News, two state senators are calling for changes to ensure that post-release deaths are investigated.

RELATED: A Detroit psychiatric hospital released him Thursday, he took his life Friday

At 162 beds, StoneCrest is one of the largest private psychiatric facilities in the state. 7 Action News first investigated the hospital earlier this year, after one of its patients, Joe Sadlak, admitted to murder only two days after he was discharged.

He had been treated at StoneCrest for less than a week.

“You put my son on four different kinds of medication and knew his drug history,” said Pamela Rowley, Joe’s mother, “and you let him go.”

In Michigan, when a psychiatric patient dies within two days of being released from a hospital, the state requires the hospital to report it. Those reports come to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

In September 2017, StoneCrest reported that a patient came to its hospital after stating he “was not happy in his life and wanted to die.” After treatment, he was released and died shortly thereafter. StoneCrest reported the death to the state, listing the cause as “not known.”

Less than a month later, another patient came to Stonecrest after saying he wanted to “jump off a bridge.” Within 2 days of release, he was found dead in his bathtub with his throat cut. State officials from LARA didn’t investigate.

A third death would be reported the following July. A woman came to Stonecrest with a history of suicidal behavior. She was treated, released and—the next day—found dead in a river. The cause of death was listed as “unknown.” Again, state officials didn’t investigate.

Then, this past June, a 29-year-old Detroit man came to Stonecrest after displaying severe psychotic behavior. He was deemed well enough to be released, but took his life the next day.

“Did your office ask any questions about that?” asked Channel 7’s Ross Jones.

“Again, we’ve been doing our statutory requirement,” said Larry Horvath, the Director of the Bureau of Community and Health System at LARA

“Did you ask any questions about that?” Jones asked again.

“We required the report to be filled out,” Horvath said.

“And that’s it,” Jones replied.

“Yes,” Horvath said.

Officials asked no questions, according to a spokesman, because “LARA is not by law or rule required to follow up on these reported deaths,” nor—they say— does the law give them the express authority to. State watchdogs are empowered to investigate only deaths that occur in restraints, Horvath said.

The death reports are reviewed during regular inspections, but no investigations are launched. Horvath said he hopes hospitals use the reports to guide their treatment.

"If they're starting to notice a pattern with a cause of death that occurs have discharge, hopefully they're starting to work with their medical directors, their nursing staff, their social workers to put corrections in place to address it," he said.

“It’s inexcusable,” said Mark Reinstein, President and CEO of the Mental Health Association in Michigan. “To hide behind, ‘It’s not our legal responsibility.’ Well then whose is it?”

By law, LARA is required to report all psychiatric deaths reported to them to the state legislature. But they haven’t been, 7 Action News has learned, for at least the last three years. In August, prompted by our reporting, the state submitted reports for 2016, 2017 and 2018, though they did not include post-release deaths.

Following our questions, LARA changed the reporting requirements for post-release deaths—no longer requiring that deaths occurring within 48 hours of discharge be reported. Spokesman Jason Moon said changing the policy aligns LARA with state law, which doesn’t require notification of post-release deaths.

The decision stunned multiple mental health advocates, including Andrea Rizor, the Director of Advocacy for Michigan Protection and Advocacy Services,.

“It looks like they don’t want to know if it’s a suspicious death or not,” she said. "It doesn't make sense."

This week, in response to 7 Action News' findings, the Democratic leader in the state senate is calling for changes.

“Stories like these are deeply concerning, and as a state we should be doing all that we can to help stop these preventable deaths,” said Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich (D-Flint). “The department should have the ability to identify concerning patterns, and if it requires a legislative fix to make sure they are empowered to do so, we will write the bill.”

Schuette For Michigan Supreme Court - The Endorsement Of The Celestial Goddess Of The Woodshed

In the spirit of fuchsia....

T'was the moment before heavens fell,
And all through the State,
Not a supreme court candidate was stirring,
Except for Smooches.

With his brilliantly concocted public defense psyoptic at the threshold,
His Legal Geniuses (trademark pending) in tow,
The world awaits the uncloaking,
Of the dark tale of Michigan's child welfare show.

It shall be "just us, Smooches....just us....".

Much love.

Celestial Goddess of the Woodshed

And that, boys and girls, is why The Celestial Goddess of the Woodshed endorsed Bill Schuette for the next, Michigan Supreme Court Justice.

Jacques: Run for Michigan Supreme Court next for Bill Schuette?

Mackinac Island — Former Attorney General Bill Schuette, who lost his bid to become governor last
"Looking good, Smooches!"
fall, is said to be weighing a run for the Michigan Supreme Court in 2020.

That's the hottest speculation on the island as Republicans gather for their biennial state convention. Much of the mission for the weekend is to recruit candidates for next year's ballots, and the GOP has been struggling to attract the sort of big names that will give their ticket heft — and fundraising legs.

Schuette would do both. Asked by a reporter whether he's considering the race, Schuette was evasive. But he didn't deny his interest, saying he's worried about the direction of the court.

"My big concern is how the court has shifted away from the strong rule of law court it was under (former Gov. John) Engler," Schuette said. "I'd like to see it return to that type of court. It's important for Michigan."

Several sources close to Schuette say he is strongly considering a run and that they wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a formal declaration of his candidacy soon — perhaps even this weekend.

The Supreme Court will be a key race in 2020. Republican-nominated justices currently hold a 4-3 majority on the court, which is frequently called on to settle policy disputes.

Two seats will be up for grabs, but Republicans won't have an incumbent on the ballot, due to the retirement of Justice Steven Markman, who was appointed by Engler in 1999. Chief Justice Bridget McCormack, who was nominated by Democrats, must stand for reelection, and will be the only incumbent in the race.

While Schuette has no formal role at the GOP conference, he is hosting a reception, typically something political hopefuls do to court supporters.

If he runs and wins, Schuette, 65, would be able to serve only one, eight-year term. Michigan law prevents justices from running after they reach age 70.

But one term would be could enough for party leaders desperate for marquee candidates in 2020.

Along with court nominees, Republicans are hunting for contenders capable of reclaiming the two U.S. House districts they lost in 2018 to Democratic Reps. Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens, and someone who can hold the seat of retiring Rep. Paul Mitchell, R-Dryden.

The GOP also needs a dozen new state House candidates to replace term-limited incumbents. It currently holds a 58-52 majority in the chamber, an advantage that was significantly whittled after the 2018 balloting.

Schuette has been largely out of the public eye since his failed gubernatorial bid. Democrat Gretchen Whitmer defeated Schuette decisively, posting a 10-point margin of victory.

But he began hinting this summer that he was likely to be tackling a larger political role soon, including the possibility of helping lead President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign in Michigan. Schuette, who switched his support to Trump after former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush dropped out of the 2016 presidential race, was endorsed by the president.

He would be a strong contender for the open Supreme Court seat, given his name recognition and established campaign structure. Prior to serving two terms as attorney general, Schuette served on the state Court of Appeals, was a congressman from mid-Michigan and was a member of the state Legislature.

Cocktails & Popcorn: Engler Has No Intentions Of Cooperating With Michigan Attorney General Nessel - Too Many Trafficking Tiny Humans Trust Funds At Stake

Dana is being very polite in seeking an interview with Engler for the simple fact that this is the same dance that went on in March 2019.

Engler knows there are watchful eyes upon him.

We shall see which side of history Dana wishes to be remembered.

Nessel, Engler 'at an impasse' over interview in MSU investigation

Michigan State University Interim President John Engler answers questions from The Detroit News Editorial Board and reporters in the Tony Snow conference room at The Detroit News in downtown Detroit on Friday, January 11, 2019.Mackinac Island — Attorney General Dana Nessel said her office is “at an impasse” with Michigan State University’s former interim president John Engler regarding an interview for Nessel’s investigation into the university Larry Nassar scandal.

Engler’s unwillingness to be interviewed about the university's handling of complaints against former sports medicine doctor Nassar will not stop Nessel’s office from completing its investigation, she said, “but we won’t have as much information.”

Nessel said she won’t put up with Engler’s “forum shopping” or excuses regarding his lack of availability for an interview.

“It’s not because he never comes to Michigan,” Nessel said. “It’s because he doesn’t want to be interviewed in a state where I have prosecutorial authority. He doesn’t want to be interviewed in a state where ... he can be held responsible in the event that he makes intentional misrepresentations.”

When contacted by The Detroit News Wednesday, Engler said he had a call on the other line and hung up. A request for comment sent to Engler’s lawyer was not immediately returned.

Nessel requested an interview with Engler in January around the same time the former governor resigned under pressure after a year at the helm of MSU. He had replaced former President Lou Anna Simon, who resigned in the wake of the scandal involving serial pedophile Nassar.

In April, Engler’s lawyer Seth B. Waxman said Engler had not been contacted by Nessel’s office since it cancelled a scheduled March interview in D.C. Nessel’s office has said it was only willing to meet with Engler in D.C. if he was unavailable in Michigan.

Engler has attended several MSU sporting events during that time period.

In March, Waxman objected to having Engler be interviewed by Christina Grossi, who is the lead assistant attorney general in the MSU probe. He argued that Grossi had "prejudged Mr. Engler's veracity and motives without ever talking to him" and wrote that Grossi demonstrated a "personal bias against Mr. Engler."

When university trustees urged Engler to meet with Nessel in an April letter, Waxman responded that Engler “at all times offered, and made himself available, to meet with the Attorney General’s Office.”

The Tale Of Why Betsy DeVos Wanted To Cut Special Olympics: Children's Trust Funds & Her Foreign Corporations

Gather round, dearies, for I shall tell the tale of why Betsy DeVos wanted to cut Special Olympics funding.

Once upon a time, Betsy came up with lots of privatized child welfare services with John Engler.

Foster care and adoption turned out to be quite the financially fruitful industry in Medicaid fraud, so they built hospitals to do more research with children because HHS was handing out lots and lots of grant money in children's research, particularly psychological and pharmaceutical, because Michigan is the only state where the State Attorney General cannot sue a pharmaceutical corporation.

Betsy said the Special Olympics cuts were needed, but she did not tell the truth as to why she wanted to slash the funding, so I will.

It is about Medicaid fraud in child welfare.

See, it goes like this.

Bethany Christian Services is moving, quite quickly I must add, to implement full scale claiming of corporate parental rights.

Instead of Special Olympics for kids, there can now be specialized services whose costs can be reimbursed through Targeted Case Management in the expansion of the Families First Act.

Yes, that is correct, when you sign up for these Public Private Partnerships to receive services for your child, that means you are poor, and, as such, shall immediately sign over all your rights, including parental rights, over to the corporate parent, where, the corporation has full control of the children's trust, like the identity, Social Security Number, EITC, to be leverage for more money, that they exfiltrate out the United States through child welfare NGOs to money launder into political campaigns.

I guess Trump did not like Betsy's plan, but hey, what do I know?

I know MiABLE is a foreign corporation  and its name is TSA Consulting Group, Inc., and it is taking all the federal funding for all these special needs children, and is going to help these kids save their money, and you can trust them because they are not even a Michigan corporation.

It looks Australian.

Yes, privatization is the real reason why Betsy wanted to cut Special Olympics funding for children.

Betsy likes to send Medicaid fraud in child welfare money to her overseas children's trusts.

Betsy is doing the work of the christian god, the residuals of the peculiar institution.

And that ends the tale of how Betsy does not realize that I just dry snitched, again.

President Donald Trump says Special Olympics will be funded after fallout with Betsy DeVos on the Hill

President Donald Trump on Thursday said the administration will fund Special Olympics following a whirlwind of criticism this week over the White House's budget proposal that had eliminated federal funding for the program.

"The Special Olympics will be funded, I just told my people," Trump told reporters outside the White House. "I want to fund the Special Olympics and I just authorized funding of the Special Olympics."

Prior to Trump's comments on Thursday afternoon, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos faced more backlash at a hearing in the morning on Capitol Hill over the Trump administration’s proposal to cut federal funding for the Special Olympics. Despite Trump's comments on Thursday afternoon, Congress is ultimately responsible for approving the budget that is proposed by the administration.
In a heated back-and-forth with Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., DeVos defended the administration’s “tough choices and decisions,” saying she did not personally approve the cuts, but forcefully pushed back against criticism.

“Let's not use disabled children in a twisted way for your political narrative,” DeVos said when answering questions from Sen. Durbin. “That is just disgusting and it's shameful.”

Durbin, in response, said the proposed cut was “shameful.”

“I am not twisting it, I asked you to answer yes or no, and you said you did not personally approve this,” Durbin said.

DeVos told the committee that she loved the Special Olympics and had contributed a portion of her salary to the organization.

Durbin went on to criticize decision-makers at the Office of Management and Budget, saying, “Whoever came up with that idea at OMB gets a Special Olympic gold medal for insensitivity.”

DeVos has faced significant backlash this week over part of the administration’s budget proposal that would eliminate $17.6 million for the Special Olympics. The full budget proposed a decrease of $7.1 billion for education funding overall.

The proposal to cut funding for the Special Olympics has been part of past Trump administration budget proposals. The chances that the budget will get passed as it is in this first iteration is highly unlikely.

On Wednesday, the chairman of the Senate appropriations subcommittee, Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., issued a statement saying that the subcommittee would “not cut funding for the program."

“I'm a longtime supporter of Special Olympics and proud that Missouri is home to the largest Special Olympics training facility in the world,” Sen. Blunt wrote. "I was just at the World Games and saw, as I have many times before, what a huge impact the organization has on athletes, their families, and their communities. Our Department of Education appropriations bill will not cut funding for the program."
