April Fools!
The U.S. Department of Justice, Offices of the U.S. Attorneys, have done absolutely nothing to prioritize civil rights protections for children in foster care or ending Medicaid fraud in child welfare.
In fact, the U.S. Department of Justice has not even updated its website to replace the former Attorney General's name, Eric Holder, with the current Attorney General, Loretta Lynch.
Perhaps it would behoove the DOJ to confer with the California Attorney General on how to design a bureau for children's justice to continue working on justice reform.
U.S. Department of Justice Project Safe Childhood |
The Department of Justice and each United States Attorney’s Office are committed to protecting our children. Our goal “is to prevent child sexual exploitation from occurring in the first place, in order to protect every child’s opportunity and right to have a childhood that is free from sexual abuse, trauma, and exploitation so that they can become the adults they were meant to be. [We seek to] accomplish that goal by efficiently leveraging assets across the federal government in a coordinated manner.” - The National Strategy for Child Exploitation Prevention and Interdiction.
