Oklahoma Teacher and the Proper Hand of God

There is a major movement across the States in religious, Christian-based organizations taking over
social programming.

Movements such as this always begins with child welfare policies because leadership will never directly touch the controversial, historical issues of Christianity profiting from children.

Political candidates and elected officials have an unspoken 'hands-off" challenging Christian organizations taking over child welfare programming because churches contain large sources of votes and campaign contributions.

Today, it's the left hand.  Tomorrow it will be a call to Child Protective Services for moral turpitude.

OK: Teacher called child evil because of left-hand use

OKEMAH, OK (KFOR/CNN) - A young child was deemed evil by his teacher because he writes with his left hand. The educator went as far as to send a note home explaining why the child was encouraged in class to use his right hand.

Zayde, only four years old, started his first year at Oakes Elementary in Okemah, OK this year, but his mom kept him home today after a dispute with his teacher over being left-handed.
Zayde is like most kids in pre-k, learning how to read and write. But like his mom, Alisha, Zayde is a lefty.
"From picking things up to throwing things, to batting, to writing, to just coloring you'd do at home with him,” mother Alisha Sands said. “He's always, always used his left hand."
But during homework time, Sands noticed her son was using his right hand.
"I just asked is there anything his teachers ever asked about his hands,” Sands said. “And he raises this one (the left) and says this one's bad."
Sands sent the teacher a note, and got a strong response.
The teacher sent Sands an article that called left-handedness "unlucky," "evil," and "sinister." and says, "for example, the devil is often portrayed as left-handed."
Sands couldn't believe it.
“It breaks my heart for him because someone actually believes that, believes my child is evil because he's left handed. It's crazy," Sands said.
She went to the superintendent with the article, but there was no suspension of any kind.
“There was basically nothing done to this teacher,” Sands said. “She told them she thought I needed literature on it."
Zayde will likely transfer to another class just two months into the school year.
Sands said she's filing a formal complaint with The State Department of Education.
