Enderle campaign honored to be endorsed by United Auto Workers

LANSING - The Lance Enderle campaign is humbled and honored to have received the endorsement of the United Auto Workers. The United Auto Workers is the most diverse labor union in the country, representing over 390,000 active members and 600,000 retired members nationwide. UAW workers work in the automotive, aerospace and agricultural industries, as well as the health care, higher education, and public service sectors.

"I am excited that the UAW has endorsed Lance Enderle for Congress in Michigan's 8th Congressional District," said Michael Huerta, UAW Local 602 member. "Lance is that rare individual in the public spotlight that not only talks the talk, but walks the walk. He's not one to hide - he's always in front. Now more than ever, working families need an advocate in Washington who is willing and able to stand up for what's right and fair for all individuals. As the next representative from Michigan's 8th Congressional District, Lance will fight to restore middle class voices to the halls of Congress."

"I'm looking forward to being a voice for the working class," said Enderle. "It is a privilege to have the support of the leaders and membership of the United Auto Workers. It"s going to take hard work from all of us working together to restore the middle class."

The last time the UAW endorsed a non-incumbent candidate who ran in back-to-back elections in this district, that candidate was Bob Carr, who won the seat in 1982. No non-incumbent has run back-to-back since.

"This election is not going to be won by who has the most money," Enderle said. "It's going to be won by the person who works the hardest, the one who gives a damn about their constituents and not their corporate masters."

Enderle has also been endorsed by AFT Michigan, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 9, Local 333 Plumbers and Pipefitters, Pipefitters Local Union No. 636, Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council, and the Lansing Association for Human Rights.
