Happy Hamtramck City Council Election Day - August 6th, 2019 - Go Vote

August 6, 2019 is the Hamtramck City Council Primary, where three are picked to proceed to the next round.

This should be a fun election to watch, as always.

I wonder if the Board of Elections Commission is going to post the vote tallies.

Hamtramck has a very *unique* manner in which its elections are conducted.

Happy Voting!

Update 2019:

In November 2018, Michigan voters overwhelmingly approved changes to Michigan Election Law.  One of these changes is the ability to vote absentee (also known as vote by mail) without a specific reason.  We encourage voters of all ages to call the City Clerk’s Office at 313-8001-5233 ext. 821 or stop by the window in City Hall and ask to be put on the “Permanent AV List”.  Voters on this list will automatically receive an Application for Absentee Ballot for each election cycle every year.  Spread the word to your constituents and e-mail contacts in town!

Elections in Hamtramck typically occur on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in August and November each year. For specific information not listed on this page, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 313-800-5233 ext. 821.
