Social services calls police to Duggar home after family refuses to cooperate with child welfare probe
Police in Arkansas were called to the home of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar after they reportedly refused to cooperate in a child welfare investigation.
According to a report published by In Touch magazine on Wednesday, a representative from the Washington County office of the Arkansas Department of Human Services contacted 911 on May 27.
The magazine obtained a transcript of the 911 call through the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act.
“We have an investigation and I guess they’re not being cooperative,” the DHS representative told the 911 dispatcher. “We have to see the child to make sure the child is all right. So we just need police assistance.”
In Touch noted that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar failed to mention that they had recently been investigated when they spoke to Fox News host Megyn Kelly about allegations that their son, Josh, had repeatedly molested young girls. Authorities had previously investigated Josh in 2006 for molestation incidents dating back to 2002.
