Mackinac span to go blue for autism project

It should be noted that autism was considered a result of child abuse.

It should also be noted that Detroit has the highest rates of autism and its spectrum disorders in the world.

St. Ignace — The Mackinac Bridge will be lit blue at sundown Tuesday and be illuminated at night for all of April as part of an autism awareness campaign.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority is working with several corporations and organizations for "Light It Blue Michigan." All costs are paid by private donations.
More than 50,000 Michiganians have autism, which affects the ability to communicate and socialize.
