Conyers Announces $30 million Transportation Grant for Greater Detroit

(WASHINGTON) – Today, Congressman John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.) issued this statement following the Department of Transportation’s award of a $30 million grant to the Greater Detroit area.

U.S. Representative
John Conyers, Jr.
“I am pleased to announce that the Federal Transit Administration’s State of Good Repair program has awarded Southeast Michigan a $30 million grant to modernize and repair its decaying transit system. This competitive grant will be used to renovate its fixed-route fleets, to purchase buses, to enhance security measures, and to revitalize neglected facilities. I can say with a distinct sense of pride that this initiative will improve the efficiency and safety of our transportation system.”
