CONGRESSMAN JOHN CONYERS JR., TO SPEAK AT BAKER COLLEGE OF ALLEN PARK

ALLEN PARK, Mich., Feb. 7, 2012 — On Monday, February 13, at 6 p.m., U.S. Rep. John Conyers, Jr., will visit the Baker College of Allen Park campus, 4500 Enterprise Drive, Allen Park. The congressman will speak about Michigan's economy and what needs to be done to foster a better business climate. He will also address ways to promote job growth. The event is open to Baker College of Allen Park students, staff, faculty and the media.

"The second most senior member of the House of Representatives, Congressman Conyers has focused his recent efforts on promoting economic development in Southeast Michigan, fighting for equal justice and the protection of the civil rights for all Americans, and promoting peace around the world," said Aaron J. Maike, Baker College of Allen Park president. "This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to hear first-hand from a seasoned professional and expert in many fields. We are honored that he chose to visit our campus."

Congressman Conyers will also tour SMART lab on February 13, a newly developed area on Baker's Allen Park campus dedicated to interactive instruction for business students.
"We are delighted to demonstrate to Congressman Conyers how high quality technology-based educational tools, such as our SMART lab, helps in developing and fostering strong leadership for the future," said Kevin D. Kijewski, Baker College of Allen Park dean of business administration.
