First lady Sue Snyder to help grieving children

Lansing— Michigan first lady Sue Snyder is taking on a new role as spokeswoman for the Michigan Network for Grieving Children.
Snyder will discuss her new role today at a Lansing news conference. She'll also talk about her involvement with Ele's Place, a nonprofit organization that offers free support services for grieving children and their families in Lansing and Ann Arbor.
Snyder is the honorary chairwoman of the Ele's Place spring reception Thursday at the Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor. Tickets are $100 apiece.
It's traditional for the spouses of Michigan governors to take on a cause during their time as First Lady or Gentleman. Former Gov. Jennifer Granholm's husband, Dan Mulhern, promoted mentoring during her time in office.
