SD to get $152K as part of drugmakers' settlement
Attorney General Marty Jackley said South Dakota has joined with other states and the federal government in reaching an agreement with pharmaceutical companies over the improper marketing of the epilepsy drug Zonegran.
The U.S. Justice Department said Irish pharmaceutical company Elan Corp. and its U.S. subsidiary have agreed to pay more than $203 million for promoting Zonegran for a wide variety of uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
South Dakota's share in the settlement is $151,980.
