Perhaps Wayne County Could Benefit

Hey, I have an idea!

In Wayne County, Michigan the rate of Medicaid fraud is an event of multiple occurrences, daily, every minute, tick, tick, tick. it happens every second and local enforcement has done nothing but make the feds play the game of hide and seek with the records.

Well,  if Wayne County could partner with the Michigan Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and do a regional collaboration with the other counties to stop Medicaid fraud in child welfare...

Wait a minute...

Wayne County is the only county in the State of Michigan where the Attorney General prosecutes chld welfare cases.  That would mean the Attorney General would have to prosecute itself!

Well, it was a good idea to stop Medicaid fraud in child welfare for Michigan.  Oh well.

Westchester County taxpayers receive a Medicaid fraud refund check
WHITE PLAINS – A Westchester County efforts to fight against Medicaid fraud, abuse and overpayments has paid off.  County Executive Robert Astorino received a $61,000 Medicaid reimbursement check for ongoing efforts in the county to identify waste, fraud and abuse in the Medicaid program.
The check was presented Tuesday by New York State Medicaid Inspector General James Sheehan for Medicaid overpayments detected and recovered as a result of a state-local collaboration.
The refund is the direct result of Westchester’s participation in the County Demonstration Project, a statewide initiative begun in 2006, with the support and assistance of the New York State Association of Counties.
