NICWA Teaches Leeching

National American Indian Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (NICWA)

The following Information Gateway materials were made available at the National American Indian Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect held April 11 to 14, 2010, in Portland, OR.

The report was published in 2001, almost 10 years ago and relies upon research done more than 12 years ago. This report was based on the very first studies after federal funding streams began to pore into the states. This report, as out-dated as it is, has never been updated nor amended.

Think of it this way: the materials provided for the national training is like teaching doctors that leeching is the best practice to cure the common cold.
