Detroit Voting Issues At The Polls - Mid Term Election 2018

As of this posting, the night is young and the Grand Jury is silent.

I will be updating as the reports come in on how jacked this election was, too.

Despite no lighting or pens in the booths, which were littered with campaign material, the turnout was brisk and spirits were high for the turnout.

There were two voters who asked why their updated voter registrations did not reflect their current address, forcing them to go to their old precinct polling station.

Poll workers did not respond, nor refer the matter.

This may have had something to do with the Wayne County ElectionSource contract being pulled.

Voters Turned Away Due To Missing Voting Machines In Detroit

MICHIGAN — Election Day is more than halfway through and precincts are seeing huge turnouts across metro Detroit. There have been reports of snafus along the way, including power outages, malfunctioning machines, 100-person standstills and ballot confusion all across metro Detroit Tuesday.

The Detroit Free Press reported problems as simple as the surge protector supplying the power to a ballot machine being off, unbeknownst to poll workers.

Still, reports say this election is expected to break records in voter turnout as Michigan elects its next governor, votes on three proposals and a weighs in on slew of local elections.

At Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Detroit, voters arrived shortly after polls opened ready to vote, but they were shocked to find out that the precinct wasn't prepared – they had no voting machines, WXYZ reported.

According to the report, there was some sort of miscommunicationabout where those voting machines were left. It turned out they were locked in a closet on the other side of the school, a closet that election workers did not have access to.

In the meantime, voters were turned away, the report said.

Most other metro Detroit voters are telling Patch it's been smooth sailing so far this morning, with only minor traffic jams and hiccups reported.
