“President Trump has commenced a course of conduct that is Nixonian in its design and execution and threatens the long-vaunted independence of the Justice Department. If dedicated government officials deem his directives to be unlawful and unconstitutional, he will simply fire them as if government is a reality show. I call on my colleagues, regardless of party, to condemn this executive order and the reckless firing of our chief law enforcement officer.
“I am also concerned that this decision to force Acting Attorney General Yates from her post before her successor is confirmed leaves an unacceptable gap in our law enforcement and national security capabilities. Ms. Yates was the only official of the Department of Justice currently authorized to make an application of any kind to the FISA court. It is unacceptable to fire her and leave law enforcement and national security in the lurch.”
Shortly before Trump’s announcement to fire Yates, Ranking Member Conyers issued a statement praising Yates for her courageous act.

Washington, DC – Tonight, in a letter to her senior leadership, Acting Attorney General Sally Yates ordered attorneys at the Department of Justice not to defend legal challenges to President Trump’s immigration order—which bans entry into the United States to travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries and to refugees from around the world. Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), Ranking Member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, issued the following statement in response:
“After reviewing the facts and the law, Acting Attorney General Yates reached a conclusion shared by Americans from coast to coast—President Trump’s refugee order is neither lawful nor defensible. It is likely unconstitutional. It is beneath the character of the United States.
“I am deeply proud of this act of courage and patriotism. I hope her stand serves as an example for the men and women who continue to serve in government under President Trump.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – More than 160House Democrats, led by U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.) today introduced legislation to defund and rescind President Donald Trump’s executive order banning travel from Muslim countries and suspending the refugee program.
The SOLVE, or Statue of Liberty Values Act, introduced following profound confusion and fear after the implementation of an unprecedented Presidential Executive Order banning refugees and individuals from 7 majority Muslim countries. Over the weekend, Americans witnessed chaos at airports across the country as travelers, including Lawful Permanent Residents, children, and elderly persons were denied entry to the United States.
Put simply, this Executive Order is bad policy and it makes our country less safe, and a growing chorus of foreign policy experts has condemned Trump’s Muslim and refugee ban as disastrous for U.S. foreign policy and national security. “Donald Trump has recklessly instituted an executive order rooted in Islamophobia and xenophobia,” said Conyers. “It rationalizes fear mongering and is an unprecedented break with America’s humanitarian tradition, targeting the most vulnerable population in the world – refugees. What makes it even worse is that instead of making us safer, this order has the potential to bolster recruitment for terrorist groups. Today, I’m proud to cosponsor the SOLVE Act which would rescind this disastrous policy.”

During his speech for the March For Life, I was completely stunned, that an individual, who has just been elected as a leader of this hegemonic state, blatantly and publicly, condoned human trafficking.
Adoption is more than the trafficking of humans who hail from historically, economically disparaged, targeted populations, it is the oldest form of survival, just with a newly coined socially constructed label.
Federal and International investigations have uncovered arms, drug, human and organ trafficking, including using children.
Just in case Mr. Pence has forgotten about his time in the Congress, I thought it only proper to provide him with a visual stimulant to remember.
So, instead of honoring the laws of biology, women are now forced, or rather "enslaved" to produce goods to be acquired and sold by the state through adoption. I expect Mr. Pence to demonstrate the same vim and vigor in a march to end global human trafficking of women and children, but I highly doubt that would fit the political agenda of his financeers.

“By seeking to halt all refugee admissions in the short term, and slash the number of refugee admissions to a modern historic low, today’s order betrays our proud heritage as a Nation of immigrants and a place of refuge. And by banning all visas and admissions from exclusively Muslim-majority nations, this order constitutes a thinly veiled ban on entry based on religion, betraying America’s cardinal commitment to freedom of belief.
“Throughout our history our Nation has granted safe haven to families fleeing persecution, violence, terror, sexual slavery, and torture. In doing so we have not only acted morally, but we have added to our own strength, vitality and diversity. The executive order issued today by President Trump would, among other things: (i) halt for 90 days all visas and admissions of noncitizens from a number of Muslim-majority countries (Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen); (ii) enact a 120 day ban on all refugees from entering the United States and shut down the Syrian refugee program indefinitely; (iii) reduce by more than half the ceiling for worldwide refugee admissions; (iv) impose a potential “Values Test” against immigrants seeking entry into the United States.
Washington, DC – House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) and Congressional Black Caucus Chair Congressman Cedric Richmond (D-LA) wrote to President Donald Trump to urge that if an investigation must be completed in regards to Trump’s voter fraud allegations, that it be completed by a non-partisan independent body and that the investigation also focus on voter suppression in the wake of the 2013 Supreme Court Shelby v. Holder decision.

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.) reintroduced H.R. 676, “The Expanded And Improved Medicare For All Act.” This bill would establish a privately-delivered, publicly-financed universal health care system, where patients, their physicians, and non-profit health care providers would be in charge of medical decisions -- not insurance companies. H.R. 676 would expand and improve the highly popular Medicare program and provide universal access to care to all Americans. The program would be primarily funded by a modest payroll tax on employers and employees, a financial transaction tax, and higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans.

U.S. Senator Richard Burr posted an op-ed moaning about being picked on by the family rights activists for being the one person in the history of U.S. child welfare reform who is holding up the Families First Legislation which is designed to keep kids with families.
But, of course, I am going to throw my 2 cents in.
To respect the economy of time for my fan base, allow me to sum up his side of the story.
There is a little community around Appalachia called Crossnore, North Carolina whose only major industry is warehousing poor kids who are snatched from the inner cities of his District which are suffering from the ills of poverty and a lack of resources due to sardonic socio-economic policies of privatization.
Senator Burr is advocating an artificial constituency request to stay in the business of filing Medicaid cost reimbursements to profit from its "at-risk' free workforce just so he can stay in office in office because every corporation should hire a child.
This situation sounds like there is a need for an ethics investigation...just to clear the record because there is a lot of money floating around his campaign activities.

I’m honored to have been able to witness President Barack Obama take the oath of office – not once, but twice - during my lifetime. He broke barriers when he became our first African-American president and he has continued to break records throughout his presidency. President Obama has worked tirelessly everyday on behalf of our country. He took office at a time when our country was teetering on the edge of economic collapse. When the auto industry was on the brink of collapse, President Obama stepped in, saving millions of jobs up and down the supply chain. Under his leadership, our nation has been pulled out of the Greatest Recession since the Great Depression, more than 18 million previously uninsured Americans now have health insurance, Dodd-Frank has minimized the threats to financial stability, and he has commuted more sentences of prisoners who were victims of unjust sentencing, than any other President. President Obama is leaving behind a lasting legacy of greatness. Not only has he inspired generations of Americans to reach for the stars and go after their dreams, he has broken many barriers throughout his administration, continued to push limits and move our nation forward.
The Sacramento FBI office has created a Teen Academy to give youth opportunity in law enforcement and to change the face of the FBI to become more inclusive.
Just take a look at foster care and what happens when you age out, it is not pretty.
The FBI does not only need to see the future through the eyes of youth, but so does DHHS, IRS, USDA, USPS, HUD, DOE (<== education) and any other federal law enforcement program.
When I worked for the Detroit Police Department, we had, or at least I tried to make it so, a similar youth program called the Detroit Police Junior Cadet Program.
Unfortunately, there were no data collected to demonstrate its effects (another story), but I am going to say that it was an amazing program for youth.
Instead of doling out these so-called community grants, why not partner with the youth and give them direct opportunities to bring back to their communities and families.
Now, allow me to tell you why these COPS grant programs sucked.
A group of "could-not-make-it-in-the-real-world" university Ph.D.s would get together and pump out some fancy pants Response For Proposal which ended up generating lots of pretty pictures called charts and graphs so they could:

Meet their quota of mandatory university publications so they could get tenure;
Pad a CV;
Cash that much needed supplemental income paycheck;
Cosign on the RFP crap; and/or,
Suck up to get a federal administration or NGO job to keep the money rolling in for everyone except those for which the RFP was generated in the first place.
The time has come to depart from the pseudo-scientific RFP model and let the people tell us what needs to be examined.
Besides, technology is open source and instant.
Let youth get paid for their research; it is practical and cost efficient, in many, many ways.
I am hoping that law enforcement, and I am not going to marginalize this to strictly federal, but also state local, and dare I say, international, collaboration to engage and train youth in the art of fraud detection.
We need to start our whistleblowers out young.
Whistleblowers are the original law enforcers.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Sacramento Field Office is accepting applications for the Spring 2017 FBI Teen Academy. This unique opportunity is open to all high school juniors attending any school—public, private, and home school—in the 34-counties the field office serves.
Students selected to participate will spend an entire day at FBI Sacramento Field Office headquarters in Roseville on Friday, April 7, 2017. Applying and attending the FBI Teen Academy program is free; however, families are responsible for travel to and from the class.
The FBI Teen Academy is a unique opportunity for any student—regardless of career interest—who is curious about the FBI, what the FBI investigates, and how it serves the community. FBI Teen Academy participants engage in activities and discussions about what the FBI does and current topics relative to FBI investigations. Activities may include discussions about cyber safety, terrorism, active shooter situations, and color of law and civil rights investigations; participation in simulated evidence response team and bomb techs scenarios; and frank conversations about online communication and staying safe in an always-connected world.
After completing the class, participants better understand the FBI’s role in their communities, grasp the complexity of FBI investigations, can make lifestyle choices to be safer in their day-to-day lives, and what FBI career paths are available. About the Sacramento FBI Teen Academy:
Each spring and fall, the FBI Sacramento Field Office hosts the FBI Teen Academy for 20-36 students who spend a day in FBI facilities to learn about the agency, what it investigates, how it serves its community, how students can make wise lifestyle choices to be safer in their day-to-day lives, and what FBI career paths are available. The opportunity is available to any high school junior in the region the field office serves and can create a lasting connection between the students and the FBI. More than 250 students have attended the FBI Teen Academy in Sacramento to date.

Indiana Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Engaging in a Child Exploitation Enterprise
A member of a highly sophisticated, global child exploitation enterprise dedicated to the sexual exploitation of children was sentenced to prison today.
Assistant Attorney General Leslie R. Caldwell of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division; U.S. Attorney Jill Westmoreland Rose of the Western District of North Carolina; Special Agent in Charge John A. Strong of the FBI’s Charlotte, North Carolina, Division; Special Agent in Charge Harold H. Shaw of the FBI’s Boston Division; and Special Agent in Charge Paul Wysopal of the FBI’s Tampa, Florida, Division made the announcement.
Michael Fluckiger, 46, of Portland, Indiana, was sentenced to 240 months in prison for engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, along with lifetime supervised release. U.S. District Judge Richard L. Voorhees of the Western District of North Carolina imposed the sentence. Fluckiger pleaded guilty on December 2, 2015 and has remained in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service since his arrest on March 4, 2015.
According to admissions made in connection with the plea, Fluckiger acted as the co-administrator of a highly-sophisticated global enterprise dedicated to the sexual exploitation of children, organized via a members-only website that operated on the Tor anonymity network, through which he and more than 150,000 other members authored and viewed tens of thousands of postings relating to sexual abuse of children as young as infants and toddlers. According to admissions, Fluckiger was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the website – including managing membership, developing and enforcing strict rules and deleting website content that did not depict or discuss child pornography. In addition, Fluckiger admitted that website members employed advanced technological means in order to undermine law enforcement’s attempts to identify them, including the use of a hidden service on the Tor anonymity network and elaborate file encryption.
On Sept. 16, 2016, a federal jury convicted co-defendant and lead administrator of the site, Steven W. Chase, 57, of Naples, Florida, of engaging in a child exploitation enterprise and related charges. A sentencing date for Chase has not yet been set. Co-defendant and global moderator of the site, David Lynn Browning, 47, of Wooton, Kentucky, pleaded guilty on December 18, 2015, and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 7, 2017.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, at least 48 alleged hands-on abusers have been prosecuted and 49 American children who were subjected to sexual abuse have been successfully identified or rescued.
The FBI’s Violent Crimes Against Children Section, Major Case Coordination Unit and Digital Analysis and Research Center investigated the case with assistance from the FBI’s Charlotte, Tampa, and Boston, Field Offices. Trial Attorney Reginald E. Jones of the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) and Assistant U.S. Attorney Cortney Randall of the Western District of North Carolina prosecuted the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. Money launderers who bragged on a secret federal wire tap that they could employ Clinton Foundation connections to funnel and cleanse millions in illicit cash have sparked a newly-minted FBI investigation into the embattled charity run by Hillary Clinton and her family, federal law enforcement officials confirm.
The money laundering allegations being probed by the FBI have been buoyed by recent revelations and evidence discovered by the NYPD from a laptop confiscated from Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin’s Manhattan residence. According to NYPD, several of the emails recovered on the hard drive disclosed sensitive financial details of the Clintons and their charity. That evidence is now in the hands of the FBI too, whose New York field office has opened a parallel Clinton Foundation investigation.
Federal law enforcement sources said the Los Angeles-based money launderers, who are part of a separate federal investigation, discussed previously using Clinton Foundation personnel to domesticate foreign funds that could not be legally brought into the United States through traditional bank wires and deposits.
NYPD sources said Weiner’s email treasure trove contained correspondences regarding a company linked to President Bill Clinton and at least one offshore company, a South American affiliate of the Clinton Foundation. The emails also contained offshore financial correspondences, the source said.
Federal agents said one U.S.-based company is owned by Bill Clinton and according to linked banking intelligence discovered in emails, that entity disbursed millions of dollars via wire transfers through global banks to additional accounts controlled by the Clinton family and its charity. NYPD intelligence sources versed in anti-money laundering, said the emails and other items obtained from Weiner’s laptop paint a portrait of a complex corporate umbrella strategically formulated to seemingly operate and avoid law-enforcement detection.
“There’s sophistication in how this works and distributes cash to other accounts,” a federal intelligence source said. “Do we think this involves gun-running or drug-dealing criminals? Not intentionally, but the infrastructure is set up almost identically. Proceeds and income are being hidden the same way.”
Has the Clinton Foundation and/or affiliates underwritten or profited from terror groups? It is distinctly possible it has conducted business with terror-backed financial concerns, federal agents said based on a cache of suspicious financial activity reports filed by institutions with the U.S. Treasury which flagged transactions with known terror-linked cartels, including Islamic factions.
While the sophistication of the financial structuring and money movement may seem familiar to law enforcement, this case is anything but a normal investigation, notwithstanding its targets include a former U.S. president and secretary of state. Normal joint operating protocols between the FBI and Justice Department have been abandoned. FBI agents in the Los Angeles field office, where the money laundering probe launched have been continuously hassled by Justice Department naysayers who want the investigation spiked. Likewise, Justice Department officials have instructed FBI agents in New York City to stand down and abandon the inquiry. However, the Bureau has refused to buckle, especially after receiving corroborating evidence from the NYPD, FBI officials said.
Is the Clinton Foundation federal probe the work of FBI agents gone rogue? No. The FBI agents, with approval from headquarters in Washington D.C., have been sanctioned to continue the investigation, ignoring directives from Attorney General Loretta Lynch and her underlings, including Leslie Caldwell, Lynch’s point running the Justice Department’s criminal division.
Neither Lynch nor Caldwell were available for comment.
The FBI’s probe of the Clinton Foundation is actually a compartmentalized investigation. Field offices in Los Angeles and New York are spearheading the case but other offices are involved and contributing, sources said.
According to federal sources, transactions linked to Clinton corporate holdings have raised several regulatory eyebrows even beyond of the Justice Department, specifically in the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury that reports to the Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. FinCEN’s mission is to combat and pinpoint money laundering for personal profit or underwriting terrorism through the collection, analysis, and dissemination of financial intelligence and strategic use of financial authorities, namely banks and investment houses.
According to federal sources, FinCEN is warehousing numerous Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) forwarded to Treasury from financial institutions for transactions from Clinton-owned entities, both in the United States and globally, all triggered by anti-money laundering safeguards. These reports are confidential but federal agents are using these filings as key pieces to the Clinton Foundation financial puzzle.
According to details gleaned from FinCEN, federal agents acknowledge the Clinton Foundation operates a menagerie of subsidiaries and corporate structures beyond the parent charity. According to law enforcement sources, the FinCEN revelations coupled with the emails recovered by the NYPD detail a complex myriad of shell corporations linked to the Clintons and their charity. FBI sources describe these financial entanglements as vast and global. And many defy normal operating procedures of legitimate charities, officials said.
Has the Clinton Foundation underwritten or profited from linked terror groups per the intelligence warehoused in FinCEN’s vast Treasury database? It is distinctly possible the Clinton Foundation has conducted business — knowingly or not — with terror-backed financial concerns or groups, federal agents said, especially because these are the exact suspicious transactions the U.S. Treasury mandates compliance and security officials in U.S. financial institutions to report to FinCEN under threat of hefty fines and imprisonment.
Triggered by such anti-money laundering controls, federal investigators, for example, said they have examined a Clinton-affiliated offshore entity that essentially is a multi-million dollar private for-profit equity firm operated like an unsanctioned U.S. hedge fund outside the regulatory reach of the Securities and Exchange Commission. That for-profit business however, is controlled by New York-based Clinton Foundation, a not-for-profit registered charity. Also, while the profits of the offshore company are taxable in its foreign domicile, the parent company — the Clinton Foundation — is exempt from the same annual taxes in the United States.
Likewise, because the affiliate of the Clinton Foundation operates as a private offshore company, no one — including regulators in the United States — is privy to its clients, its investments or whether it perhaps served as a front company to secretly commission pay-for-play political schemes and favors during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.
The challenge for the investigators? The Clinton Foundation and family have dozens of such affiliates and companies, an intricate corporate tapestry confusing to outsiders and intentionally complex by design.That’s why FBI agents in more than five separate field offices are working this case, federal sources said.
